Discussion for article #245751
ummmm… she’s speaking from personal experience?
This is an ongoing immaturity in our culture in general, how we can’t talk about sex or anything even related to sex (like certain organs in the body) without laughing or giggling or becoming uncomfortable, manifesting itself in this case in our ‘popular’ media (I know, CNN isn’t exactly popular).
I remember back when everyone was talking about Anthony Weiner, and I was watching a local news broadcast somewhere and the female anchor used the word “privates” to talk about the man taking pictures of his junk. And the way she said it, you could tell she was obviously uncomfortable even using that euphemism.
I want to tell these people loudly and clearly that there is a perfectly valid, scientifically accurate and adult word they can use, and that word is “genitals.” Almost no children will watch a broadcast or cable news show, and if they tune in and hear an adult use the word “genitals,” then they probably won’t even know what it means. So seriously news anchors, you can just say the word genitals and we’ll all be all right. You don’t have to be uncomfortable about it. It’s no different than talking about your spleen or your lungs, they’re just parts of your body, parts we all have.
You bunch of pussies! Just say genitals and be done with it.
As a pedant this makes me especially irritated. “Pussy” in the sense of “wimp” is shortened from “pussycat” (from which the genital term is separately derived, based on appearance) and shouldn’t be considered vulgar. But of course Trump & co. are also thinking of it in that way, so it’s pretty much a lost cause at this point.
“And what about what Donald Trump said? You know that word, that P-word that no one can say on television but you often hear in porno flicks,” she said on CNN’s “Newsroom.”
Just so its clear, today’s Trump conversation is now about pussy. Though it wasn’t about that originally, Donald Trump has now changed the conversation about himself again and he’s done it with the media’s assistance.
well done.
oy vey
Plant woman to scream “pussy” so it’s “ok.”
MSM goes nuts.
Profit.

the def has changed in x amount of years. My issue with the term isn’t that its being used. To use a Jane’s Addiction album title, nothing’s shocking in '16.
My issue is that its being reported as if its organic and the reason behind that term being thrown out there should be ignored.
Frankly i’d prefer that the woman who said it be known now. Short of her being a ‘lightning rod’, nothing else will likely happen to her.
Media had little problem saying Pussy Riot, which was…a riot.
speculating in my mind that ‘wussy’ would’ve been much more acceptable…
a fused word from wimp and pussy…
I have to laugh at word choice though…CNN “finessed the pussy”…classic.
It is the same as calling someone a dick, you twits. (Whew – close one there.) The porno “dick” is a completely different thing…, so I hear.
These idiots just need the titillation (Different than a porno! [… so I hear.]) to have something to talk about. (Jump to 3:00 on the video for the money shot.)
its New Hampshire…its likely either one or the other
And who among us doesn’t appreciate “finessing the pussy?”
Again proves he’s a master-debater.
To paraphrase Doctor Johnny Fever… “I almost forget, fellow babies… Puuuusssyyyyy!!!”
The softer word pussy was evoked, which is all but an acceptable political term now that Donald received applause and a ton of free publicity for it, but I have the feeling the intention behind it was a much more cruel and taboo term.
“Pussy” heard in porn movies? The Van Nuys Chamber of Commerce holds producers to higher standards than that, please!
“Pussy” meant a cat, usually young, when I was young, she has a dirty mind.
