“No, saying that someone’s race makes them unable to be fair and rational isn’t racist. It’s … uh, he’s not being nice to me!”
Didn’t you already post pretty much this same story, Sara? Am I missing something?
I also had the feeling it was déjà vu all over again, and it’s no more interesting the second time around. Reporter persists, trumpf resists. Meanwhile there’s a female candidate who goes unnoticed.
this stupid argument is the same argument that conservatives tried to use against Vaughn Walker in the California case against Prop 8…
that because the judge was openly out he wouldn’t be unbiased…
just change the stereotype when you don’t like the judge…
I think the difference is this is a mashup pointing to Tapper’s persistence in asking this blowhard a fundamental question straight-on, and showing how willing Donnie Dipshit was in going out of his way by avoiding answering one basic question repeatedly. Its more of a defense of Tapper…in that, at least he tried…It also shows the lengths Drumpf will go to to avoid answering questions that he knows make him look bad. In the process however, not answering and coming up with bogus word salad makes him look equally as bad…but he doesn’t seem to realize that or care.
It’s a reflection of the Republican view of the world. White male is the default standard. If you’re not white or not male, then you’re inherently prone to bias, and therefore, not legitimate.
This is evidenced by their reaction to Obama’s presidency, and will no doubt repeat itself with a Hillary Clinton presidency.
True, the mash up wasn’t in the original story but it’s pretty much the same video only with cute little tick marks. Seems that if the WaPo video was worth mentioning, the previous story would be too. Not to mention a link to the actual CNN article. Just run-of-the mill TPM weirdness, I guess.
ETA: …or just time for a fresh comment thread.
Trump extended his animus on Face the Nation by adding that a Muslim judge might not be fair, either. And then he sent awful spox Katrina Pierson to do the rounds on CNN and MSNBC. Maybe FoxNews, too, but I wasn’t watching them this afternoon.
I think this is the answer.
OT: Any hard numbers from Puerto Rico?
Could this be Trump’s “jump the shark” moment?
Trump: I’ve been treated unfairly by this judge
Which, I suppose, means that his bribe was turned down.
Actually, I don’t suppose that at all. If Trump had tried to bribe this judge, he’d be in jail right now.
Ya know, we’ve all been saying that for months. Maybe we’re just not the ones to judge that…
I do give props to Tapper trying to get Donald to return to the very simple question of “If you say that someone cannot do his job because of his race or ethnicity, isn’t that the very definition of racism?” Of course, Donald cannot answer that because the simple, honest answer is “YES”.
@beattycat - I’d like to know the answer to that question, too. I still don’t see the “primary results” section up on the Main yet.
@beattycat - @geofu54 provided the link here to PR’s primary results. Again, my high school French is doing me no favors…
I thought the earlier story was about Mitch McConnell being asked the question repeatedly and repeatedly articulating the same non responsive answer.
Judge Curiel is a helluva lot more qualified to be President than Trump. I would sooner vote for the next person to get off a bus.
After careful viewing, I’ve come to the conclusion that Clueless Donald actually thought Jake Tapper was asking him whether Judge Curiel is a racist.
Yes, but I never said it.
welcome to flashback
The last time that Jake Tapper found himself in a similar situation with Trump was February '16. At that time, the subject was about the David Duke endorsement.
good times, good times.
