The term “race baiting” is always a desperate tactic to shut down any conversation about race. It’s always used by racists who cannot defend their words or their actions, so instead they hurl the insult at the accuser in order to turn the tables. Problem is that people let them get away with it. It’s a bullshit accusation and it needs to be called out.

Pierson is a terrible spokesperson and seems to be something of a nutcase. She had worked for Cruz in his Senate campaign and was denied a position with him or his Presidential campaign because his people viewed her as a loose cannon.
This seems to be typical of Trump. The top tier of campaign officials are really unimpressive folks.

During the Tapper interview, Trump repeated the name David Duke several times and claimed he didn’t know him. So Trump heard it all very well. Now he’s in damage control mode.

I hope you are right. The term “damage control” assumes that a person CAN THEORETICALLY BE damaged (e.g…would one ever say that “God is in damage control mode”?)
In Trump’s case, “damage” has been nearly impossible.

The irrational aspects of politics have found their spokesperson in Trump. To an unheard of level.
Not only is this unprecedented, but it is also fueled by a cyber/mass-media communication apparatus hitherto non-existent.
In addition, Trump is combining expertly the modes, methods and devices of communication melding entertainment, bigotry and resentment.
This combination has never taken place in ANY political campaign in any nation, to my knowledge.
To tell Democratic constituencies to “step up” may be as late as the anti-Trump efforts of the Republicans. We will know relatively soon whether the REPUBLICANS can stop Trump.
Unfortunately, habitually underperforming Democratic constituencies are going to combat a force never before seen in American politics in the General:
A GOP candidate immune to criticism FROM HIS FOLLOWERS.

It won’t make you happy to learn that stricter voter ID laws will be in place on Super Tuesday in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia in the first presidential election season since SCOTUS did its dirty work.
