As a general rule, per capita income is a powerful predictor of religious radicalization. Funny how that works. The poorer you are, and the more miserable your life, the easier it is for sociopaths and depraved zealots alike to put on clerical garb and suck your money, your time and, all too often, your life right out of you like spiders desiccating a fly.

Agreed. He’s kind of painting with a broad brush saying “American Muslims have no problem” with the drawing of Muhammad. I’m sure there are some, perhaps even a sizable minority. But the right, and some on the left, are constantly asking “where are the moderates that are standing up for free speech and against violence?” Well, here you go. We need more voices of reason like his. Then perhaps the spotlight can be turned back to group most heavily victimized by radical Islamic terrorism: Muslims.
That’s a good response.
I hope that the virulent Sunni Wahabbi terrorists who want to kill innocent people for expressing their views on supposed prophets get this sort of civilized and tolerant message. There is fundamentally nothing wrong with drawing images of people even if they claim they are prophets, messengers of the supposed true gods etc.
