The grand jury is going to let a murderer walk because that is what the highly prejudiced prosecutor wants it to do.
Any “unrest” will be the work of professional provocateurs—people much like you, Snookums----who will take advantage of the events to make the Ferguson community look bad.
President Obama has nothing to do with it.

There is not going to be an indictment, at least not on the state level and everybody knows it. But the worse part is everybody knew it as soon as they heard of Micheal Brown’s killing.

Clearly, we all know there will not be an indictment. However, we know that they’re obviously still going through the motions of pretending to deliberate. That’s a good sign.
The fight must continue!! We as Americans must all stand together and demand justice for ALL Americans equally-- regardless of skin color, appearance, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, creed, etc…and in time it will happen, step by step, as the forces against equality are fighting just as hard to ensure equality never happens.
The result for now is clear, as we know that “they” wouldn’t have even pretended considering charging a white officer with a black “thug’s” death ten years ago. But today they are, so we are making a little progress.
The fight must continue, and ten years from now we will have some beginnings of the color blind justice Reagan the racist lied about.

Lots of schools get the week of Thanksgiving off. It gives families the opportunity to travel to visit family - unless you work for one of those “volunteer” to work the holiday stores. My daughter and family, including a school aged child, are headed this way (a 9 hr drive) on Monday and my son will make a 7 hr drive on Thurs, arriving in time for dinner and then spending a couple of days. It will be the first time the family - my siblings, their cousins - has been altogether around a table since last Thanksgiving. I wish the people of Ferguson the same opportunity to remember why their brothers/sisters/aunts/uncles are simultaneously so annoying and so loved, totally minus the drama of a grand jury ruling.

The Grand Jury doesn’t decide between guilty and not guilty. They only decide to indict or they do nothing. They are doing nothing, but are hoping this will soon be old news and no one will notice. If they are still meeting my guess is that they are doing so to discuss something other than a possible indictment.

If I were the prosecutor, I’d certainly be hoping against an indictment. From the evidence I’ve seen and heard so far, there isn’t even remotely enough to obtain a conviction. Maybe there’s a lot more that hasn’t been made public, but armed only with what’s been released so far, I’d hate to be stuck with trying to make that case.
It will happen just as people in the 1940’s would have never imagined Jim Crow would have happened. As they say, :This too shall pass." But he fight must continue for it to happen.
Gimme a break. He killed the boy in broad daylight in front of probably a dozen eyewitnesses. Almost none of the people we convict have that much going against them. There is more than enough to indict and more than enough to convict.

Well, when the prosecutor did everything he could to assure there was no indictment, one can presume he didn’t want one. Legal experts I’ve heard claim that the DA gets his/her desire out of a grand jury almost all the time.
However, your assertion that this is because of the lack of evidence to convict seems to me to be erroneous. Brown was over a hundred feet from the police cruiser when he was shot multiple times to the point of fatality, in far excess of what would be required to subdue an assailant who was clearly no threat at that distance.
The more likely scenario is that the Governor and the DA didn’t want anything to do with prosecuting this cop for political reasons. We see this corroborated by the simple fact that the Governor refused to appoint a special prosecutor, basically a middle finger to the community’s sensibilities of getting a fair shot at justice.
Of course, if there’s no indictment, the claim will be made that there was a lack of evidence to convict, and that not they but the “impeccably fair and impartial” grand jury made that determination. Around these parts of hillbillyville, people call that “bullshit.”
They wanted to control the situation to assure the outcome they wanted, and they’ll get it. They wanted no part of prosecuting this case. Their strategy is to let the black man in the Justice Department bear that burden.
The point is, we need a fair trial, not an end-around to justice. If there’s a failure to indict, the Governor and the DA will have abdicated their sworn duty and should both be removed from office. One can’t substitute the threat of lethal militarized force for justice.
To me, it’s a sign they’re waiting for the holiday because people will be distracted with that. The assertion they’re still deliberating is a joke given the militarization that has taken place, not just in Ferguson, but nationwide. If they intended to return an indictment, one would think they’d have been done deliberating long ago, the known evidence being so clear.
Keep in mind that CNN is a propaganda outlet whose sole purpose is to manipulate public opinion on behalf of the powers that be.
They couldn’t convict George Zimmerman.
Give me a break.

I don’t know what point you are trying to make with that last comment. My point is that the evidence we already know is more the enough to indict; it is enough to convict. The prisons are full of people who were place at the scene by eyewitnesses. Some of them by eyewitnesses who lied. Just the other day there was a story on TPM about a man who was release after spending 40 years in prison because an eyewitness admitted that he lied when he placed the defendant at the scene.
The only thing consistent here is that the judicial system always cuts against the black guy, no matter what position he takes in the case, be ha defendant or victim.
I’d say it’s more like they are thinking, “Damn, If forget that the attorney general is black. That means there will be a federal case after our usual cleanup.”
But I agree with spirit of you point.
On an aside I think it is bad political calculus from Rockefeller. It seems that he hasn’t noticed that he is a Democrat and need black votes. If the State of Missouri doesn’t indict then Rockefeller won’t get enough black to get elected to anything. It seems he is trying to straddle the fence. But he can’t.
