This. I don’t think any republican would be much more likely than him to get elected, but I think it would be more damaging overall to the party if he can wait until after the convention before sending himself up in his own mushroom cloud.

Are we turning over a new leaf? I’m getting the sense that lately, as in the past few days, the press seems to have tired of the fact-free Trump style. Am I dreaming? Or am I getting tired of my usual pessimism? Or have a slipped into an alternate universe where everything tastes like chocolate? How do I even know that anyone on here is real? What if you’re all paid trolls. Paid in chocolate.

The first cracks in the wall was when the newspapers started putting the Trump audio (from their ‘meet and greets’) on their websites. The objective behind it was that if any of his fans had an issue, the paper could direct them to the site and then the article.
now this is the part where i come close to mangling this saying, but if the horse still doesn’t want to drink, then that’s on them.

I have maintained for quite sometime already that he will abandon before the election in Nov. but I expect it to be closer to Election Day.
Right now his sycophants can still feed him polls that show him ahead of Hillary, so he’ll focus on that.
I’m betting, however, that Trump fatigue will set in at some point, along with the growing awareness even among the Trumpsters that he’s just a flimflam artist, and as soon as he can see that he’s going to lose to Hillary, he’ll fabricate something that he will use to flounce off in a sulk and declare everyone to be a bunch of losers. With luck that will be so close to the election that there will be no going back for the GOP.
He can’t win but he can’t lose, so he’ll kick the dirt, collect his marbles and go home, consoling himself that he really didn’t wanna play with those stupid kids anyway.
