Wouldn’t it be easier if the coal and petrochemical industry just hired his bodyguards directly?
That is who he’s working for.
Is it me, or does this level of ‘security’ strike anyone else as subterfuge - as in making it even harder to detect what the hell he is doing? What harm and havoc is being wrought behind a veil of dense security?
And what is the status of all (or any) of those law suits he filed against the EPA as AG of Oklahoma?
WTF is going on here? I’ve smelled literal dead rats that were likelier to pass the smell test than this.
Why would any one want to harm someone who wants to poison our air and water?
Given how much damage he’s doing, he may well need them.
"Other people think the EPA is doing too much, vis-à-vis enforcing environmental laws and they’re upset about that.”
330 million people in the country, so I guess you’re gonna find a few that like to drink polluted water and breathe poisonous air.
Jesus, what’s next? Purple robes and trumpets?
I think Pruitt may be mentally unstable.
Other than paranoia, what is the explanation for this behavior?
It was supposed to be a surprise!
Geez hush on that line, or we may get stuck with him.
How soon does he have to declare he’s running for OK Governor?
I know a former federal-level environmental official who got a hard time from both sides. But he never mentioned any physical danger and it’s hard to believe any official much below the President needs 30 security people. It could be weird manifestation of guilt, or it could be lots of things. But the one thing I don’t think it can be is justified. Just a huge warning bell.
Honest to God. They hire ‘guards’ on the taxpayer’s dime because they are protecting themselves AGAINST the taxpayer while they are destroying the environment so they can steal more money from the taxpayer. Wow, just wow.
70? 300 million people in this country and only 70-ish people have threatened him to-date? And that justifies 30 security agents? Even if Pruitt received 70 threats every day I’d say 10 agents sounded excessive. This is paranoia.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.washingtonpost.com/amphtml/national/health-science/epa-yanks-scientists-presentations-at-conference-on-narragansett-bay/2017/10/22/7429e65c-b76a-11e7-a908-a3470754bbb9_story.html
Maybe he’ll rig a fake and naturally foiled attack on his person to drum up sympathy and soften up the populace for further power grabs.
No one ever mentions this is exactly what Trump did a few days before the election.
So can we have a followup on just how many death threats other EPA directors have received, instead of the claim by interested parties?
Also, when you’re slashing your agency’s budget it only makes sense to spend more of it on things that don’t advance its mission.
If only Congress had oversight committees to investigate these sorts of things.
The Muammar Gaddafi of environmental degradation.
By the time these MoFo’s get done we will be begging for help from Puerto Rico.
