Discussion: CNN Criticized For Inviting Ex-Rep On Air After He Threatened President Obama

Joe Wilson thrives on attention and being in the spotlight to espouse his incendiary views. Shame on Joe Wilson, shame on CNN.

This was one of the worst interviews I’ve ever seen. Lemon and his producers could have shown examples of what Obama had actually said after such events. But they didn’t have the brains to anticipate Walsh propaganda?

After Walsh said he stood by his tweet, Lemon should have pressed him. “So, you are actually advocating violence against the president of the United States?”

If Walsh demurred, Lemon could have pressed him on his use the words “take out.” Lemon could have also shown that the actual numbers if police officers shot had gone down this year.

What was the point of this? Don Lemon is a joke. Send in Anderson Cooper.

“Watch out Bush. Watch out lying Iraq war cheerleading punks. Real America is coming after you.”

Gee, I wonder what the reaction on CNN and Fox would have been if a Democrat had said this.

Don Lemon tossed his usual softballs at Deadbeat Daddy and he just let him openly call for assassination of the President. And Walsh gets his usual pass. Once again IOKIYAR is alive and well proving Republicans are above the law.

If a Democrat had called for Dumbya’s assassination the entire media would go ballistic 24/7.

Ah yes…good old Joe Walsh. This “one” is typical of all the “baggers” elected in the wave of lunacy that spread through this country a few years ago. All he and most of the other “baggers” have is that long list of snotty bigoted remarks that got them elected. Watch them today (if they get on TV) and you will see that that list is the only thing they have in their heads.

Travel back in time when all the problems of this country were reduced to “dealing with” welfare queens and unions. Remember the Rs led by Ronnie and their style of governing? Now look at this country today and be amazed that all our problems have been or will be solved by identifying the group of citizens that are responsible.

Just keep watching cable news and accepting the crap you hear and understanding that those voices are not identifying the “real” source of our troubles. They say make them pay and we can have our country back to 1950 when our country was “great”. Can people really give that stuff any credence at all?

Good gawdamitey…how did we get here ???

Why don’t reporters ask these idiots to name specific times President Obama has criticized or demonized cops? Again, our media failing us. CNN could care less that he threatened Obama. They wanted to stir up controversy.

Once again IOKIYAR is alive and well proving Republicans are above the law.

And once again prominent Democrats across the country—and most especially in Washington, D.C.—reaffirm their craven, gutless spinelessness when it comes to defending their President against direct threats and vile character assassination.

Where is Pelosi? Schumer? The Sainted and Most Venerated Russ Feingold? Franken? Gillibrand? Merkley? Reid? Brown? Have any of these so-called leaders stepped up and publicly called out Walsh and defended Obama? Have any of them made a stink about CNN in any way?

Unless and until Democrats back up their lofty platitudes by actually going after people like Walsh and their media enablers like CNN and Fox, there isn’t the tiniest reason that any media outfit should give a bleeding rat’s ass about Democrats.

Fucking Democratic cowards, all of them. They anger me far more than Republicans do.

Some of the voices shouting in his head claim to be sane but I’m skeptical.

I am all for letting people just change the channel if they don’t like what’s on but for God’s sake…this scumsucker threatened the PRESIDENT and tried to backtrack (kind of) when given a national platform. That just isn’t right. CNN SHOULD be ashamed.

People like Walsh and Trump have figured out that outrageous tweets are catnip for the media. They can’t not cover them, they can have an orgy of discussion about them, and advertisers are rolling in clicks, eyeballs, and dough.

Watch the full interview, hosted by Corey Lewandowski, tonight at 6!

…they probably would have been Gitmoed and never heard from again. Walsh could use a one-way ticket to sunny Cuba.

Awhile back there was a poll (can’t remember where) which showed that people who watched the Daily Show with Jon Stewart were the most informed and the people who watch Fox were not only the least informed but actually in many cases, misinformed.
People who did not watch TV news or read newspapers were still more informed of current events then Fox viewers.

I personally think that would be wrong approach. Walsh, a one term Representative who lost by 9 points, is/was essentially throwing a tantrum trying to get attention for himself and his low rating radio show. None of the people you listed should even acknowledge he exists, let alone elevate his tantrum to their level.

This isn’t on “Fucking Democratic cowards”. This is entirely on greedy CNN whores looking for controversy to drive ratings.

And the irony that this idiot is whining about having this twitter account suspended (good on Twitter!), while he is doing an interview on CNN is too rich to even make it into an Alanis Morrisette song.

But this is what the cable news networks do and Favreau is right. CNN knew those were horrible comments yet they wanted to give him even more time to spew his lies. I don’t watch CNN but I do watch MSNBC and they do their share of the same bullshit.

God, I wish I could show my disgust by boycotting CNN, but I already haven’t watched it in years. Instead, I send a giant middle finger to Don Lemon and Jeff Zucker.

It is impossible to contact anyone at MSNBC to complain - does anyone have a way to contact CNN? They have made sure they are sheltered from any attacks by the public

Joe Walsh is a loose cannon whose invitation to appear on CNN says a lot about the desperate need of both CNN and Walsh to have eyeballs watching them.
