Discussion for article #240503
Well. That letter Trumps the Club For Growth ad for sure. Dumbasses. Probably good for a 2 point bump for Trump before the week ends.
Great. Trump/Sanders '16!!
And how, exactly will this will hurt Trump with respect to the Social Security and Medicare-loving, banker and hedge-fund manager hating, yet nativist, racist base?
Second choice? Any other GOP candidate.
I’m thinking they should blame FOX news for the attractiveness of Trump and his egotistical and ignorant blatherings. They’ve got people so riled up they’re looking for their next knight in shining armor.
Trump “the worst kind of politican”.
Yes, he’s republican!! They are the worst kind!
The utter inability of Republican elites and the other plutocrats to grasp what is happening with Trump is absolutely comical. Trump scares the crap out of me, but they’re so totally disoriented, so utterly clueless about how to even begin to deal with him that I have to laugh. Trump’s messaging strategy is mere reduction of the Gingrich/Luntz communications strategy down to the lowest possible common denominator level. Trump’s communication style is a crudification, as it were, of the same amygdala tickling Rove made a career of, combined with a hyper-simplified version of the content-free motivational buzzing of Reagan.
It’s the same stuff that elites north and south have been using to motivate and mobilize aggrieved whites who perceive themselves as losers and blame others since the 1840s, except simpler with enormous fire volume. And yet, in the face of it, the Kristols and the Bush Crime Family and the Plutocrats for Gimme are as hapless and lost as the 18th century monarchies fielding their little chess-board set-piece battle armies against the levee en masse of Revolutionary France.
By all indications, this will not touch Trump’s high numbers … except to add to them.
Club For Growth; FOX Entertainment; Family Research Council; The Duggars; Ann Coulter; Rick Santorum; Gov. Greg Abbott; neuro-surgeon Ben Carson; Supreme Court Justices Scalia, Alito, Thomas and, to a lesser degree, Roberts; Liberty University; Limbaugh; Levin. Need I continue? All of them and so many more are 100% responsible for the upside-down world of GOP politics and the Tea Party voters, etc. You people kept on feeding this kind of shit to each other over and over and over in your own chosen small, but-ever-expanding echo chamber. Say it a thousand times and eventually the illiterate and/or uneducated and truly the unempathetic will start believing it’s true. Your hens are coming home to roost. You made this bed. Lay down and get fucked now–you so deserve it.
I totally forgot these assholes–thank you! Also, that is how I refer to them half the time. The other half, it is the Bush Klan.
How ironic. The Club for Growth attacking the president of the Hair Club for Men.
…but, but, but, he hates all the same people the conservatives do. Isn’t that enough???
club for stupidity …initially this tirade appeared like it had the potential to have Trump declare all “loyalty” pledges null and void …but suspect that Trump is almost at the point where he will look around at some of these screaming GOP crazies and say … No, I’m not leaving to make a 3rd party run - how about you leave - I’m in charge of the GOP now.
Your whole comment was a pleasure to read.
It is fascinating, isn’t it? The Republican elites have spent several decades keeping most of their elected officials in line with scorecards and pledges, and have kept their voters stirred up with ever more dramatic descriptions of the hell we have spiraled into (when a Dem is the incumbent in a race) or the hell we will certainly spiral into (when a Dem is challenging a GOP incumbent). And it worked, especially in the non-presidential years.
It worked so well that the GOP took control of a majority of statehouses and redistricted to create bombproof GOP districts, where the real election happened in the primary, and candidates could take positions untainted by the need to have general election appeal beyond the GOP majority.
At that point, loss of control became possible. When the GOP elites didn’t deliver to their minions, loss of control became a dangerous possibility.
Trump said that he had declined a Club for Growth request for a $1 million donation. The organization hit back saying that Trump had asked for the meeting and attempted to "buy us off."
The benefits of Citizens United. Now not only can super-PACs accept unlimited contributions, they can also demand unlimited contributions (or else).
Can we indict Club for Growth and the RATS of SCOTUS under the RICO statutes?
