I would love to see Grasshole go the way of the last dinosaur who survived the meteor crash but I just don’t think it’ll happen. I say this based on what happened with Pat Roberts (Rethug-KS) in 2014.
Roberts admitted, point blank, that he doesn’t even have a Kansas address anymore. He just hunkers down on some friend’s couch for a few days and calls it good. If anyone should have gotten kicked out, it was him. But no. Judge seems like a really good candidate for us. I’m just kinda jaded.

There is a handmade but professional looking political sign in the front yard of a house, along a major street in my town, it says “Retire Grassley.” That’s the meme that will stick. Put him out to pasture.
There are few Senators I’d like to see go down more so than Grassley. It will be sweet justice when he hears about Hillary appointing the next Supreme Court justice from his tractor lawnmower seat.
Even if he wins, every million he has to spend defending what what supposed to be a safe republican seat is a million that won’t be available somewhere else. And with (reportedly) general GOP fundraising not as healthy as most cycles, that could be a big deal.

If the Democrats win the Senate my concern will be that some conservative Democrat will not stay in line and vote with the GOP to prevent a Clinton SCOTUS pick. Can’t assume a Democratic Senate will automatically make it easy for Clinton’s pick.
Iowa is NOT Kansas. IA has gone blue every presidential election cycle since 88 except 04. During that time, Grassleys only run for Senate twice during presidential election years, in 92 and 04. The country is far more polarized now that it was a decade ago and he’s running in the first election after IA elected that TP monster. They’ll be looking for a head on a platter, and I believe it’s becoming increasingly probable that both Grassley and McCain are staring down their final six months in the Senate.
