Shitstorm arrives in German dictionary
We anglophones ist gut mit der schwerwords.
āeagleās nestā, huh?
definitely not nazis.
Not fair. Much easier for them to pronounce our words than for us to pronounce theirs.
For example:
Backpfeifengesicht
German compound word for a āface that should be slappedā
Love the word. Probably would mangle it if I said it out loud.
As far as I can tell, the other languages where Iām competent to survey the relevant dictionaries donāt have a similar set of conventionally differentiated meanings for different sorts of animal excrement. Thus the French Wiktionary page for merde offers many derivatives and expressions, but none of this type; and similarly the pages for ScheiĆe, stront, merda, mierda, etc. Though maybe this is just because the wikilexicographers havenāt gotten so deeply into the subject in other languages.
Or maybe Anglophone linguistic culture really is uniquely full of shit. English certainly has (I think) an unusually large number of phrases and expressions involving that word:

Our British cousins are the masters at profanity.
Honest people donāt need lawyers to approve everything they do!
Name one single damn name in this administration that belongs to a basically honest, competent, committed public servant hired to do the job well. And āMuellerā is not an eligible name. Is there an historical parallel for a group of thugs so cartoonishly comprehensive in its corruption? I donāt think Tammany Hall was nearly as traitorous. Quisling was kind of a lone bad apple. Vichy was bad. But this bad even so?
I have personal experience with my late departed British-Welsh dad. When that man was trying to fix our car, he could blister the paint and crack the glass in the windows. He didnāt speak Welsh; Gran was Cornish, so thereās that. But Gransha was a Navy man, an Engineersās mate on the HMS Lion during the Battle of Jutland, so Dad had a mighty wind of ānavalā swearing behind him.
Except their lawyers are sleazebuckets without any ethics.
Read once Sarah Vaughan was nicknamed āSailorā by her bandmates because of her fluent cussing.
Or Bar licenses.
Because they canāt pass the multistate ethics exam.
ETA: Or because theyāve been disbarred.
Or write their names
Some of his defenders will use the mere fact that it is complicated to try to exonerate him: ānobody can even understand what he is accused of doing - donāt make no damn sense! Ya see, the libruls donāt know which way is up!ā

I want a raspberry pie!
Can I have a piece?
Depends upon the size of the pie. Iām a good kid who shares well with others.
thank you. I wouldnāt take any of it from you if it wasnāt big enough to share.
Iām not greedy.
O well we arenāt talking about chocolate cake.
