ā€œeagleā€™s nestā€, huh?

definitely not nazis.

Not fair. Much easier for them to pronounce our words than for us to pronounce theirs.

For example:

Backpfeifengesicht

German compound word for a ā€˜face that should be slappedā€™

Love the word. Probably would mangle it if I said it out loud.

As far as I can tell, the other languages where Iā€™m competent to survey the relevant dictionaries donā€™t have a similar set of conventionally differentiated meanings for different sorts of animal excrement. Thus the French Wiktionary page for merde offers many derivatives and expressions, but none of this type; and similarly the pages for ScheiƟe, stront, merda, mierda, etc. Though maybe this is just because the wikilexicographers havenā€™t gotten so deeply into the subject in other languages.
Or maybe Anglophone linguistic culture really is uniquely full of shit. English certainly has (I think) an unusually large number of phrases and expressions involving that word:

Name one single damn name in this administration that belongs to a basically honest, competent, committed public servant hired to do the job well. And ā€œMuellerā€ is not an eligible name. Is there an historical parallel for a group of thugs so cartoonishly comprehensive in its corruption? I donā€™t think Tammany Hall was nearly as traitorous. Quisling was kind of a lone bad apple. Vichy was bad. But this bad even so?

I have personal experience with my late departed British-Welsh dad. When that man was trying to fix our car, he could blister the paint and crack the glass in the windows. He didnā€™t speak Welsh; Gran was Cornish, so thereā€™s that. But Gransha was a Navy man, an Engineersā€™s mate on the HMS Lion during the Battle of Jutland, so Dad had a mighty wind of ā€˜navalā€™ swearing behind him.

Some of his defenders will use the mere fact that it is complicated to try to exonerate him: ā€œnobody can even understand what he is accused of doing - donā€™t make no damn sense! Ya see, the libruls donā€™t know which way is up!ā€
