Discussion for article #224596
The Drama Queen of Nevada…
Without the BLM land, you wouldn’t have a ranch, Cive.
This article is a good example of why the print media is struggling to stay afloat. Its July 2 and GQ magazine is reporting on an event that took place in April.
“Those people up there on that front line that faced those bullets would be dead without the media there. And they would be dead without the militia.”
Brain dead and walking dead.
Cliven lives in the action movie of his imagination, in which an evil cabal inside the BLM has made him a high-level target for assassination. But thanks to a courageous contingent of rugged, well-trained militia stalwarts and media publicity, he’s still alive to fight for freedom another day.
My understanding is that Bundy has long since exhausted his legal options for avoiding paying his debts. The BLM should ask a federal court to freeze his assets until he makes good on what he owes, with interest. No standoff, no drama. Just do it already.
Cliven Bundy might not recognize the authority of the federal courts, but I promise you his bank does.
No, you wouldn’t. You might have had to pay your fines or even been locked up, but the only danger is from you and your idiot gun nut friends.
No. You would be in Federal Prison where you belong.
You are not important enough for anyone to “kill” (your delusions of grandeur not withstanding.)
Comments like the one by the good sergeant are a big part of the reason this country is run by idiots. A story can be important even though it happened last week, last year or a hundred years ago.
“Faced those bullets?” What fuckin bullets? I don’t remember a report of a single gun going off…well, except at cops in Vegas and BLM officials, and cops in California.
Guy needs to double up on the old medication.
Flattery will get you everywhere. Not.
I have not read this article, but magazines (e.g. The New Yorker, Atlantic) have the luxury of taking their time and getting an in depth story. Unlike TV, radio and the Net, they can take the time to sort fact from fiction and explain to their readers what was really happening.
The real time delay issue is why Bundy has still not been arrested. Anarchy is when a bunch of armed yahoos can successfully thumb their noses at the law.
Oh foreffs’sake!! The feds are trying their damnedest to avoid an armed confrontation with you idiots. Frankly, I would be fine at this point if you started and lost a major fire fight. Maybe then people would think twice about being thieves.
His 15 minutes are over. Let the old man stew in his juices. I am told the government already has enforceable judgments. Levy his cattle when he ships them for sale. Figure out who is buying them and intercept the sales proceeds. The government doesn’t need to send in troops to handle this, it needs investigators, accountants and lawyers…
When I think of GQ I think of good looking guys who dress well, not interviews with batshit crazy delusional ranchers wearing dirty clothes with manure on his boots.
Eventually, given the worsening climatic conditions, Bundy will not be able to feed his livestock on the range. I know this part of Nevada, where it may take hundreds of acres to provide enough feed for one animal unit month. A sustained drought, highly likely under current circumstances, could undo him. I love the sight of skeletonized cows on the range. It’s only a matter of time. Check out Nevada
Bundy is just another RWer addicted to the limelight. Dried up old news.
What a silly little man.
If the media were honest, they would have pointed out the stark contrast between peaceful Occupy Wall Street protesters beaten up by police versus the gentle treatment of Faux News Channel supported gun-toting Bundy militia.
