Discussion: Clinton Wins Big In S.C., Adding To Her Momentum Going Into Super Tuesday

I don’t think walking precinct will do much good here in California, but I’m willing to do what I can to keep America on the right path.

The Bern victims are starting to sound like Marco Rubio. He too keeps telling us how much more popular he is coming in NOT first as well!

Well, last I checked Trump was lamenting the old days when protesters could get beat up.

Quite a number of Republicans can’t tolerate Trump. It’s not always a sign of incipient sanity – some think he is too liberal.

Just so long as they stay home, I’m happy.

Talking to yourself again?

That or it forgot to change hosiery.

If the NYT story is really true, and the GOP doesn’t know how to stop Trump, but they also really don’t want to see Clinton win, does this mean they’ll be mobilizing some trolls to get out on left-leaning comment threads and sow discontent between Sanders’ and Clinton’s supporters?

Or are the new trolls not even worth that much thought?

This is one of Chuck Todd’s tweets about tonight: Clinton now has a new challenge if Super Tuesday looks like tonight: beating Sanders without alienating his supporters.
For fuck’s sake.

the final margin is considerably more than that suggested by RCP polling aggregation.

Considerably.

For the polling firms, it’s a guaranteed way to get page views, mentions, etc to trumpet results indicating a tighter race than the actual results (“Clinton pulls within 7 points in NH” “RCP indicates it may be only a 28% lead for Clinton”).

Clinton loses, according to some, even when she wins. She especially loses when she wins decisively. “All of this is good news for John McCain”<–Every pundit in 2008.

Weird how all that works. A Dem wins decisively, and political pundits immediately point out why that’s a problem. For the winner.

Not much here, either in CT, but if the eventual Dem nominee sets up phone banks for folks to do, then, yeah, I’m calling people in Ohio and Indiana, same as I did in 08 and 12.

Well I don’t think we have to wait now do we. Sanders must have gotten almost all the white votes. Interesting … as we move down the road. Do you think Hillary can win a big D state? That’s what matters.

No. Clinton won the white vote too, 54 percent for Clinton to 46 percent for Sanders.

Regardless of whether you prefer Hillary or Bernie, no one should be thinking anything of this sort. That kind of overconfidence will guarantee a GOP win. We should all expect to be fighting for every vote in November. We’ll need them.

Have a little faith and confidence: The reason we get 50 states is that we will be fighting for every vote and the GOP will continue to self-destruct.

Might as well share this photo from the New York Times a few days back which pretty much sums up for me Bernie and the black vote in South Carolina. He looks like a nice old man who took a wrong turn somehow and found himself here. The lady is either studiously ignoring him or she just wants to be left alone to eat her lunch.

Jesus, he is so annoying. And when he says shit like that it’s almost as if he’s mumbling it!

I had plenty of “faith and confidence” that there was no way W would be elected a second time. I had faith and confidence my fellow New Jerseyans would kick Christy out the second time around. You can keep your “faith and confidence”, I’ll take the need to keep fighting until the very end.

Nate Silver on tonight: If it were just South Carolina I’d say “meh” but the polling has also turned toward Clinton in Super Tuesday states.
