Discussion: Clinton Wins Big In S.C., Adding To Her Momentum Going Into Super Tuesday

Outside of Durango heading east.

Where is Roaring Fork Valley and why Roaring Fork?

The Clintons could even bring sexy back.

Clinton got more votes than Trump got, but more total Republicans voted last Saturday than democrats today. An interesting point about the Republican turnout, though, is that about 40% of the Republicans voting in the primaries this year would probably kill their own grandmothers if they thought it would prevent Trump from getting the nomination. With that in mind, we shouldn’t read too much into Republican turnout in the primaries this year.

She’s winning by 48 points with 99% of the precincts reported.

This is an electoral massacre.

Yikes. The county where Sanders did best was the mountainous/rural Pickens County where he lost by only 11%. The kicker is, the demographics of that county:

The racial makeup of Pickens county per the 2000 census is 90.27% White, 6.82% Black or African American, 0.16% Native American, 1.18% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.70% from other races, and 0.85% from two or more races.

Hurray, South Carolina has overwhelmingly selected HRC as a candidate for the presidency, a state that will overwhelmingly vote for whichever Republican candidate is chosen to oppose any Democratic candidate.

It makes for good excuses, I really overworked it at work. I should be ashamed but not!

After a piece appeared in the WaPo yesterday suggesting that a Hillary win in South Carolina would represent a “momentum shift”, I had commented:

"Where have the writers of this piece been? The Big Mo shift happened last Saturday after Sanders failed to conquer Clinton’s Nevada “firewall.” What that will likely do is to increase the size of Clinton’s win, which had already been expected to be sizable, in South Carolina, precisely because of the Big Mo shift or bounce she got from winning the Nevada caucus, even by “just” 6 points.

After trouncing Sanders in South Carolina, it would be an understatement to characterize what will follow as a “momentum shift.” She’ll become a galloping train that will bloody anything in her path to raking in delegates in the “SEC primary” and other contests in March. When she’s done, Sanders would be a small dot way behind her in delegate count, as she would have such a huge lead it would be insurmountable."

I would only add that the astounding margin of Hillary’s win in SC, which is bigger than President Obama’s 8 years before, should silence Bernie’s supporters who kept dismissing her 6-point win in Nevada as not much of a “firewall” since she was supposed to win by a much wider margin, while hanging onto Sanders’ large win in New Hampshire as evidence of his strength, even though NH was known all along to be as favorable to him as his native Vermont.

You can now stick the fork in Bernie; he’s done.

Works well! Ted seems to be enjoying the drink. Rubio should consider this.

Bite your tongue, Bill needs to stay as far away from sexy as can be whilst playing the second fiddle or whatever the hell his position will be called.

He’ll be the First Gentleman and it won’t be a comfortable title at first, but eight years down the road everyone will be used to it.

Literally, the very first which will make Hillary what again? Oh yeah, the first woman President of the United States, say it again, the-first-woman-President-of-the-United-States.
Democrats breaking more ceilings, tearing down walls (in your face Donald) and jumping over barriers.

It will be interesting to see if she shifts her message any after this whopper of a win.

I read that the protocol people are already working out the details. Going to be interesting, since he is a former President. What they’ve come up with so far is: If he travels abroad alone, he will be treated as a former president. If he travels with Hillary, he will be treated as the spouse of a head of state.

If former President Clinton should stray, not saying he will - just thinking about it, I have the perfect person for him to stray with: Melania Trump. That would really push the Donald over the edge.

BTW - If Hillary is so bad, Donnie, why did you invite her to your third wedding?
