Discussion: Clinton: We Can’t Alienate ‘Law-Abiding, Peaceful’ Muslims After Attacks

Exactly, we need the Muslim community to help fight this problem, not drive them away.

Maybe if she lights her hair on fire, the press will actually cover this…

Would have loved her to include the word “panicky” alongside “reckless and irresponsible.”

I thought she was great. She provided a tough, reasoned and thoughtful approach that actually deals with the issue. It’s a great contrast against Trump. People will have to choose and that’s how it should be. At least we’re talking about a real issue for a change in this campaign.

Excellent!

The only adult in the campaign, and the msm yawns and follows the orange clown…sad.

When Trump says things like he will authorize more U.S. military attacks to “knock the hell out of” various and sundry targets, does he understand that our capacity to do that is limited by the willingness of foreign countries to allow us to establish military posts on their land? We can’t knock the hell out of anyone in the Middle East without the consent of Germany, Turkey and Saudi Arabia to host our military facilities. This seems pretty straightforward to me. I would like a downsized military for a lot of reasons, but it amazes me how the average person seems to think that the U.S. military is self-contained and not dependent on the willingness of allies who for the most part are willing to accept our vision of our own national interest.

Too bad there was no flying spittle or empty rhetoric.

If there had been, she would have gotten more headline space. Unfortunately, reasoned, thoughtful and dealing with the issues is so, y’know, boring…

Maybe if Trump’s pants would finally catch on fire…

This press conference was on MSNBC first thing this a.m. The remarks she made and the answers she gave came from an adult, with not a moment’s worth of grandstanding, “I called it”, or seal the borders and bomb somewhere.

I worry that Putin might be all too willing to coordinate unlawful attacks with Trump.

The interconnectedness of everything on our little blue ball in the vastness of the universe is waaaaaay beyond the capacity of Dumpster Donnie and his hordes of undereducated Deplorables. Whether we are talking climate, communicable diseases (looking at you, anti-vaxxers), military operations, civilian peace, you name it, the “anything beyond the end of my own nose is irrelevant” Weltanschauung is a disaster for generations to come.

Sigh.

Agreed! I was going to say the same thing. Emphasize the point that the Trump response is that of a frightened coward.

Not enough hand waving . Plus it’s good exercise.
Amirite Donald ?

And interfere with Trump’s jihadist recruiting drive? Fat chance.

Trump said Monday morning that his plan involved profiling, limiting immigration to the United States and foreign military intervention that would “knock the hell out of” terrorist groups abroad.

Yeah, knocking the hell of an enemy is a proven path to victory:

***By the time the United States ended its Southeast Asian bombing campaigns, the total tonnage of ordnance dropped approximately tripled the totals for World War II. The Indochinese bombings amounted to 7,662,000 tons of explosives, compared to 2,150,000 tons in the world conflict.***

I thought that only worked for liars? According to Trump’s surrogates, since the press can’t seem to ask Donnie direct questions anymore, “how dare they call Trump a liar?”

EVERY ASPECT of the Trump campaign is subject to framing and presentation. IF the MSM were to be forced to ask Trump about specifics (both to CONCISELY state what EXACTLY Hillary and Obama “failed at” and EXACTLY what Trump would do), this scampaign of Trump would be OVER.

No $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for cable and the NYT.

That last line is the central issue of 2016:

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

And more money.
