Discussion: Clinton To Sanders: ‘Enough False Innuendos’ About My Campaign

How is responding forcefully to an attack not toughened up? It’s always amazing to me how folks in a campaign see their candidate’s attacks and defenses as evidence of greatness, while the other side doing the same is thin skinned.

It’s not unique to Sanders/Clinton, but ubiquitous.

She needs to keep doing this because he and his out of control supporters use innuendo and not facts or specifics to attack her. Glad she is calling them on it. She has spoken loud and clear on Soc Sec, it is on her website and he continues to use innuendo to the contrary.

Reminds me of the swift boat attacks. Say something false and then attack the candidate when they defend themselves. It’s called Roveism.

Because she is more honest and ethical.

That would have been awesome. We could have a totally passive-aggressive primary season.

Yeah, and that Goldman Sachs lobbyist sitting next to Howard Dean at the MSNBC NH debate was there to see Bernie. Right.

I’m merely pointing out that when Clinton does it, we get that kind of response from her supporters. It is a silly response regardless of who makes it.

@kendyZdad

“Sen. Sanders wants to dismantle Obamacare, dismantle the CHIP program, dismantle Medicare, and dismantle private insurance,” Clinton said in New Hampshire Jan. 12. “I don’t want to empower Republican governors to take away Medicaid, to take away health insurance for low-income and middle-income working Americans. And I think very much that’s what Sen. Sanders’ plan would do.”

Look, if you read the link, it is rated as mostly false. So, you know, I guess it´s not a lie, it´s just mostly a lie. However, it´s enough of a lie for me to discount her outrage over Sanders’ alleged ¨innuendo¨.

Mr. Anti-Corporate Warrior has cast more than one vote to protect one of the largest corporations in America. How does he align his anti-corporate stance with his stance to protect people who manufacture weapons from any liability? I think it’s OK to push back and would not make her seem less ethical. If her ties to Wall Street are fair game, then so are his ties to the NRA and gun manufacturers.

Piling on will certainly be helpful. The republicans can base some talking points based on what people here are saying, so yes, let’s hand them the chance to win.

I looked at her website many months ago and the only mention of Social Security was a single line about making it even more beneficial to women. She’s said nothing on the subject, and more recently her website has been rewritten in it’s entirety. I try to be kind and say her website represents what her staff is saying, because the only other explanation is that she’s a Romney-style “etch-a-sketch” candidate with one message when she is courting women’s groups, another for the primary season, and no doubt yet another incarnation for the general. What would she stand for if elected is anybody’s guess.

See, now, I would find that fair enough.

So you don’t believe that we should be able to read what a candidate is saying to the banks and powerful financial institutions after we’ve just had the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, particularly when in the process of soliciting donations?

I thought that “vetting” was the was the big minus for Sanders.
I mean who knows what hidden words might surface at a crucial time if he’s the nominee.

Me thinks Sen Sanders is getting desperate.

Only to the deranged, those who have their tin foil hats on too tight, and those who have their heads shoved so far up where the sun doesn’t shine that they can’t bother to read.

This sort of nonsense is seriously off the deep end; it doesn’t even have a tenuous base in reality.

But then, you believe that a single payer system can co-exist along side the ACA, which is a law that largely regulates the exact industry that Bernie’s single payer system (as nebulous and shifting as his plans are) would eliminate entirely.

And on that point, I have yet to see anybody from the Bernie camp address precisely what happens to the over 500,000 people employed in the health insurance industry. Remember when we were losing 8,000 job a month during the Bush implosion? Wiping out 500K over the entire length of Bernie’s fictional administration equates to over 10,000 lost jobs a month. And that’s if he could somehow spread them out that way…and doesn’t factor in the ripple impact that such job losses in just one industry would have.

It was an evasion at the debate the other night and it was evident to all.
It didn’t look good and it’s going to come up again.

Get it out there now instead of having it lie around like another time bomb.

Latest Boston Globe polling has her within 9 points of Bernie. That has to be very worrisome to the Bernie campaign. He cannot afford a close race there.

Her messages on any given topic have evolved and expanded as she makes the long campaign slog. If you don’t know what she stands for you haven’t been paying attention. But yes, use the Romney criticism or any republican criticism against her and see what that gets us.

I agree that she is still standing amidst an incredible onslaught. I just find it funny that when side X does it to side Y, side Y supporters get bent out of shape while side X supporters say, “hey, that’s politics.” Put any adversaries’ names in for X & Y.

And yes, my original comment is a bit childish. :smirk:

I posted this the other night. But apparently you missed it.

This goes to the point of your tactics. This is precisely the same crap that the GOP has been doing for years. You have nothing, so you go with hints and allegations, innuendo…“well, we haven’t actually read what she said…so its probably very bad”.

She told you what she spoke to GS about…the same things roughly that every ex SoS speaks to them about…their view of international affairs. Because, to an international investment bank…that sort of thing is important and valuable.

But you just keep putting your fingers in your ears and screaming “Scandal, scandal scandal”

She’ll deal with it and even if people may wind up not thinking her explanation is not entirely credible, it is what is. She’s the frontrunner who perhaps has some warts, but for us to denigrate her is unhelpful and what the Rs would like to see us do.
