That’s one hell of a warm embrace if I’ve ever seen one!
I am glad that is over. Now on to the election and win this thing and hopefully we won’t have to see Trump’s face again (I hope)
I shall pre-cringe before diving into my Facebook feed to see what my berniebro (and sisbro) friends think of this new development. But obviously in general (for those of us who aren’t bonkers) this is fantastic news!
Thankfully that debate is over. On to The White House.
Let’s go and win this damn thing.
LOL…“professional” hugs are always the worst.
One of the Bros on my Facebook said Bernie seemed to be grimacing during the endorsement. I had to restrain myself from asking when Bernie doesn’t grimace.
I have fallen so in love with our candidate, Hillary. This does make me really happy - we are stronger together. Of course. And the GOP is already on the mat, bleeding.
Prediction that Clinton Derangement Syndrome will last well into her first term
instead of investigating Clinton for endangering national security or for some other crime related to her public service, it will transform into a shameless witch hunt. The kind of partisan onslaught that only seems to make the Clintons more powerful. And thus the insanity begets itself.
@tena While I was looking around at the New Republic I found this which scares me. trump’s rallies have turned into “Kill the bitch!” rallies with hanging as the choice of execution. trump provokes them saying she got away with murder.
I can’t help but contrasting this with what’s happened on the other side.
Ted Cruz’s non-endorsement, Rubio’s lukewarm endorsement, Jeb out there taking shots at Trump on an almost daily basis, Carson’s passive-aggressive endorsement…
Well hell, the witch hunt the GOP started in 1990 hasn’t ended so I really didn’t expect to see it die just because she gets elected president.
Clinton Derangement Syndrome is likely incurable. The best thing we can do is put as many GOP out of office as we possibly can. That way they don’t have the money or the wherewithal to continue the witch hunting on any kind of grand level.
I freely admit that I was wrong. I thought he’d never endorse Hillary. Good on him. [1][2]
[1] I wonder how many of his supporters are yelling foul and “betrayed” and never Hillary. The comments from the exbros in the Guardian are pretty unhinged. Political naïveté with not a little indecorousness thrown in for good measure. Several Brit commentators are pleading “don’t be stupid vote for Hillary, the planet is at stake.” Or words to that effect.
[2] Who, other than the most full-of-themselves, Greenwaldistas and obsessive viewers of “Democracy Now” could possibly think that a. Jill Stein could prevail in a national election and b. get anything done in the vanishingly small probability, reaching zero on an asymptote, that she does win?
LGB, I agree with you except I’m pretty sure that CDS will endure until the last day of her second term and beyond.
The consolation is that Hillary has learned to tack into those headwinds of hate better than perhaps anyone in US political history, with the possible exceptions of FDR and President Obama. Bill did it in his time; she will do better. She will brush them off her shoulders like bits of lint as she enacts the most progressive Democratic platform in history.
And cements a SCOTUS majority that will endure into the mid-21st century. After that, I won’t be around to worry about it.
Can I just go off-topic long enough to indulge my schadenfreude over Greenwald decamping from the US for Brazil because America is just too dreadful to live in?
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Toward the end of her speech, she was almost choked-up. I thought she was about to tear-up.
She has really worked hard to bring people together. With each day, she becomes a better and better candidate.
I did notice that as he first conceded the race. And I felt like Clinton was doing her best to be polite as Bernie started with a recap of his victories.
A lot of animosity was built up during that primary, which it didn’t start with. It’s hard to throw everything you have into something and not take it personally. I remember Sanders dismissing the whole e-mail affair during their first debate, and then dredging it up later. But even by the end of the speech, and that hug, I felt like it was further dissipating.
The real core Bernbros will not be assuaged. I’m happy for the (late) gesture, but it won’t affect many at this point. I’m very curious what the range of responses will look like.
I really do think so too.
