Reality has never been a big part of Trump’s program.
There is little chance of that. Republicans are intensely loyal to the party – this election proves that. I think they will even elect a sexual predator or some one who rapes in broad daylight in the middle of 5th Avenue if that is the Party’s candidate. Democrats don’t have the political will to stand up for their ideals political skirmish by political skirmish like the Republicans do. No vendetta is too small for a Republican be it ACORN, or Planned Parenthood, the LGBT community, Bill Clinton’s donors or… the list goes down. Politics requires ideals but also retail and wholesale activities.
You mean those many, election-swinging “bernie bots” in states like Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania which HRC won by large margins in the primarys?
Oh, it’s going to be far, far worse. Our nightmare is just beginning.
The only thing I have to look forward to, if we live long enough, is to see his fanboys turn on him en masse when the scales fall from their eyes and see him for what the rest of us know him to be.

I totally agree. Electing Trump without cleaning all the turds out of Congress is a wasted exercise.The 2018 midterms started today. We need to purge the DNC and replace them with people willing to get off their asses and start rebuilding a progressive party that has economic answers for all Americans.
Democrats should be appealing to working class people in cities and in rural areas and taking on corporate kleptocrats. They should make it their mission to fight every trade deal from this point forward.
Instead, Trump who has nothing whatsoever in common with working people has been able to appeal to their tribal instincts with his racially charged dog whistles and gain their votes. This vile man has unleashed a den of snakes that America will take generations to recover from.

Today was the most gloomy day I’ve I had in in a long time. I couldn’t watch Hillary’s concession speech today or donalds victory speech last night. I had all day to absorb what happened last night and the last year of this primary and election.
And i think of the donalds words and what he said . He knew that that he tapped into the crazies in the republican party.
I do not believe that the donald will try to lock Hillary up and hell, I don’t believe he will try to send all illegal Mexicans back to Mexico. It was all a scam to get elected.
And then there is my hope. I hope he does not wage a crazy ass war that will endanger our children and I Hope that his intentions is to dismantle the republican party as we know it ,the actual “establishment” in Washington.
Donald Trump has be a liberal for too many years . Why would a democrat run as a republican when they act like a liberal( not during the campaign of course). But but most of his life. Did donald really come to fight the establishment?
I sure hope so. I actually believe that he will tell the republican party to fuck off or and least that is my hope.

Show me where ‘mandate’ appears in the Constitution. He has the office, his party has the majority in both houses. It’ll be a different country within 6 mos.
You have to remember that in this and every presidential election, nasty things are said on both sides and when the election has come to an end, both parties end on a calmer note. Why is she congratulated for being classy and not him when he is doing the same thing?
You could even argue that he is being the bigger person since she didn’t even come out in public to concede or speak to her supporters until much later.
Regardless, if you truly support and believe in her, then you should want to be classy as well and listen to her when she says that no matter what, he is going to be the president and he deserves a chance and an open mind (instead of cussing him out). Is this incorrect?

That needs to be happening everywhere. I have been putting some thoughts into that over the past few weeks and am likewise getting the hard sell from our executive committee to stay on full time.
The problem I am wrestling with though is…we got extremely high turn out in this county, but its in a very red area of FL. I should have been moved to Pinellas and spent the election working there instead 
Oh…and that whole getting paid thing. Gotta work that one out, too.

Yeah…I am taking that the filibuster is dead as a given at this point. We have no pickups in 2018, and they have many.
And that’s going to be devastating. Can Ginsberg hang on for another 4 years? I sooo wish she had retired at the beginning of Obama’s second term.
Republicans get to replace Scalia now, probably Ginsberg, Kennedy most like will take an exit in the next 4 years and the chances of Thomas doing likewise also rose. And Breyer is no young chicken either. They could potentially name 5 YOUNG justices and turn the court 7-2 for decades.
