Discussion for article #245077
She was really great on this question and issue.
I donāt have cableāand, therefore, canāt see thisābut it sounds like she really did connect and gave a great response.
Great answer, and great passion. Nice job on this one Hillary.
Bernieās been slamming Trump along similar lines about every chance he gets. Perhaps Hillary has been too, and this is just the first time itās been reported, or at least the first time Iāve noticed.
Either way, she knocked it out of the park.
She didā¦she was pretty high energy all around tonight.
Personally, I think OāMalley did the best job in this sort of format. I think the makes a lot of sense and he does have one hell of a proven track record of getting things doneā¦ahead of the curve.
But the analogy I have for him in this race, is its sort of like being an āAā studentā¦in a class that includes Einstein. He is just outclassed by Hillary on nearly every issueā¦except the environment. And on that issue, I think he blows both Hillary and Sanders away. Sadly, that issue isnāt touching many hot buttons with Democrats this primary.
Thatās why I think heād be a great choice for Veep. Groom him to be Hillaryās or Bernieās successor in 2024.
OāMalley was very impressive. He and Hillary both did a great job on a wide range of issues. Bernie was good but not in their league. I really appreciated what OāMalley had to say on the climate change question.
Pandering to the many ignorant haters is easy non leadership. Calling them out is courageous. The questioner was more American than most by fighting for the country in which so many despise her for her religion. By her answer, Hillary showed the kind of leadership that decent Americans seek in a president.
Okay, so I just watched the replay of the town hall. I will say this, with the utmost confidenceāwe, as liberals, have three competent, able, smart, knowledgeable candidates to choose from. It is infinitely a better choice than anything on the other side with that group of hateful assholes. I am not a fan of Hillary, but there is no denying that woman knows her shit. Sanders and OāMalley have firm grasps on all the issues on the liberal checklists, as well. And, while Iām not enamored with any of the three, canāt put my finger on why, but Iām just not, we do have three, although boring, very qualified candidates to choose from.
So, my two centsā(strictly for observational and conversational purposes)
I have the most skepticism about Hillary because of her chummy relationship with Wall Street and how she, so effortlessly, goes negative and resorts to cheap shots when pressed. I still canāt get the āpeople will vote for Obama out of white guilt.ā comment out of my head, as well. So, thereās that.
However, I, also, am skeptical about Bernieās overall elect-ability. And, as much as I love the sound of some of the things heās proposing (free tuition, single payer), I question their practicality, and doubt they have any prayer to get by a hostile GOP House.
I suppose, gun to my head, I would support OāMalley if the NJ primary, in June, was going to matter. But, it will, most likely, be a done deal by then assuming the super-delegates go the way of Clinton like they are projected to, by the āexpertsā. But, itās not for any other reason than heās just closer to my generation than the other two (Iām 41, heās 53), which isnāt a very good reason.
But, they all cover most all the liberal issues that matter. I like that OāMalley seems to prioritize climate change as his number one priority. So, I guess that gives him the nod.
But, as anyone who reads what I write consistently knows, Iām going to the polls to continue Obamaās policies, and for re-seating SCOTUS purposes. I am voting for Obama in Novemberā¦again. It will just have Hillary Clintonās or Bernie Sandersās name by the lever/button. So, this is all moot.
Letās see if we can discuss without it devolving into a āI hate Hillary/Bernieā mud slinging event. I would love to know all your respective thoughts.
āWhen the know-nothings get control, [the Declaration of Independence] will read: āAll men are created equal except negroes, foreigners and Catholics.ā When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretense of loving liberty ā to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocrisy.ā ā Abraham Lincoln
Good job by Chris Cuomo shilling for the Clinton side. Letās see, demanding Yes or No answers to from Sanders to right wing talking points (āBig Governmentā, āSocialistā) and fawning all over Clinton like a fanboy.
I have some questions for Cuomo. Have you had even smalltalk with the Clinton side (including supporters) about your brother being part of a Clinton ticket or administration? Have you had even smalltalk about joining a Clinton administration yourself as, for example, Press Secretary? Yes or No.

LONG OVERDUE!
Iāve been noticing this for years. The Reich-wing constantly goes after āthemā, or āthose peopleā who are not like āusā; the "Real Americansā¢ā.
I can only assume you are getting the same Reich-wing emails I do, loaded with references to āthose peopleā who live in Ferguson, Baltimore, and the ever-popular, āDetroitā. Itās āthose peopleā who donāt pay taxes, who donāt work, who are lazy, and not like āusā. Itās that damn ā47%!ā
ā(Those Americans) who are dependent upon government, who believe they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to take care of them, who believe they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it.ā - Romney with his 47% dog-whistle.
Yes. Itās āthemā, those stupid lazy fuckers who, if theyād just get a job and stop lighting shit on fire and just take some fuckinā pride in themselves!
Repukes blame the poor, not private sector loans, for the bank crisis in 2008 and 2009. āTheyā triggered that crisis. āThose people.ā āTheyā didnāt have to take jobs that put them at risk, they shouldāve gotten ābetterā efffing jobs!!
āIt is profoundly antisocial and un-American to empower the nonproductive segments of the population to destroy the country - which is precisely why Barack Obama zealously supports registering welfare recipients to voteā¦ Encouraging those who burden society to participate in elections isnāt about helping the poor. Itās about helping the poor to help themselves to othersā money. Itās about raw so-called social justice. Itās about moving America ever farther away from the small-government ideals of the Founding Fathers.ā - Ambulatory bag of rank resentment, Matthew Vadum.
Eff these guys!
If she becomes the Democratic nominee, she will pick Julian Castro as her running mate.
Nothing to add from here. You make good points. We have three good candidates for prez. One of them will face the Republican. Hopefully by then we will be united.
Unlikely. Itās pretty well known that they despise each other.
Wouldnāt surprise me.
Iām calling it like I see it. End of discussion.
