Discussion: Clinton’s Lead Over Trump Narrows In New National Tracking Poll

Trump, a creature of TV, doesn’t understand the ground game. The field offices mean Hillary will mop the floor with Trump on election day.

What the media says or reports is pretty much worth a grain of salt nowadays. False equivalency has become their mantra. They know there will be some suckers who will fall for their BS, forgoing critical thinking.

I don’t believe it. There nothing about HIM that real, it’s rigged in some DEPLORABLE way. He such a LOW LIFE PAINTED PIG.

Deplorarecephaly

That’s pretty much exactly what many said, that if it was truly a “47% moment” like it was touted in the press, she would have seen a dip. Same with the whole pneumonia non-story story.

Here, might as well add this one to the list too…from a TPM alum of all people.

Why the Media is Botching the Election

Perhaps you might wonder why I’m linking outside articles and sources here; well, because if this kind of journalism was actually happening here (and by that I mean reporting and actual journalism and not the occasional editor’s note by Josh), I’d link to those. It’s not, so I’m not.

This sentence in particular kind of reveals the hand:

Translation: to most of the mainstream media, Trump’s campaign and even a Trump presidency would, in their way of thinking, be good for business. IOW, screw the voters who would be immediately affected by his “policies”, as long as the mostly white, mostly male press corps who have ZERO skin in the game when it comes to who is really going to lose if he’s elected, are left alone to report endless reams of derp.

THIS is why people are angry this time. THIS is why they’re calling out the fourth estate in ways I’ve never seen before, and why the fourth estate is completely reflexively pushing back with no thought whatsoever as to why people are angry in the first place.

He’s calling their asses out. Bravo, Brian. One of the best pieces I’ve ever read from him.

It’s meant to be condescending. Again, and it shouldn’t need to be repeated, no one is talking about the people who got over their disappointment and will be voting Clinton. That I would be talking about them doesn’t even begin to make sense in the context of my post. Clearly, I was speaking of those who won’t be voting for Clinton because they’re still pissed she beat their candidate. And Bro is too kind of a term for them.

Not necessarily. The correlation between national polls and state polling is pretty minor, which is why sites like 538 and DkosElections don’t even factor them in. There is some impact though…but its not usually weeks out. After all, national polls are calling the people in the states.

Basically the theory goes that absent any other meaningful news in a cycle, state polling with start moving towards the national trend because the national trend IS the news. But in this campaign season, there really hasn’t been a lack of actual news moving the cycle.

The other interesting data point for me is…Trump is basically bouncing off a very low roof. This again tend to indicate that he is probably at his ceiling and doesn’t have any demographic groups to mine for more voters. Hillary does.

Yes, agreed, and given that he is still basically running a base campaign…

The Warren comment is a lot to take on board. Seems like even your average Fox correspondent might want some clarification there. Disney Pocahontas or Real Pocahontas?

Privileged toolboxes works too.

To a person, not one bitter Bernie supporter I’ve come across yet is anyone other than someone who isn’t going to be affected in any significant way by a Trump election. They’re ALL Susan Sarandons.
