Discussion: Clinton: ‘Most Serious People’ Understand Dossier Funding Was Legal

Our nation would be better, the world would be better, if she were now President.

I’m not wanting to litigate the past or dissect the fact that she - like anyone - has human foibles. Just stating it because it’s true. As it stands, an unredeemable asshole now occupies the highest office in the land.

An unredeemable batshit-insane asshole.

It’s time for Hillary to retire from public life. Let others say this. She should go back to Chappaqua and live a quiet, restful life. She’s earned it. Then she can un-retire in 2021 if she wants.

“Most serious people”… that sums up a lot. Hillary may have her faults, but she has all the characteristics a president should have, that Trump so totally lacks.

Agreed. Her continued visibility and thirst for publicity does nothing but rile up the rubes… She needs to extricate herself from the spotlight forthwith. She is going to make herself a target for Republicans to run against in 2018. The last thing the rubes need is motivation to get to the polls, but she seems intent on providing it.

This morning there is this from Clinton ally Donna Brazille, former Interim Chair of the DNC. Let there be no doubt about the disaster that Hillary and Obama made of the DNC. It was not a fair primary. This is the smoking gun.

“I had promised Bernie when I took the helm of the Democratic National Committee after the convention that I would get to the bottom of whether Hillary Clinton’s team had rigged the nomination process, as a cache of emails stolen by Russian hackers and posted online had suggested. I’d had my suspicions from the moment I walked in the door of the DNC a month or so earlier, based on the leaked emails. But who knew if some of them might have been forged? I needed to have solid proof, and so did Bernie.”

This was signed long before Clinton became the nominee:

“The agreement—signed by Amy Dacey, the former CEO of the DNC, and Robby Mook with a copy to Marc Elias—specified that in exchange for raising money and investing in the DNC, Hillary would control the party’s finances, strategy, and all the money raised. Her campaign had the right of refusal of who would be the party communications director, and it would make final decisions on all the other staff. The DNC also was required to consult with the campaign about all other staffing, budgeting, data, analytics, and mailings.”

Step 1: Deny any involvement
Step 2: Say its legal, and something "serious people " would do anyhow anyhow
Step 3: Finally admit involvement?

Jesus. This Clinton narrative can write itself at this stage.

I truly believe that one of the reasons the GOP was able to regain power was the fact that a divisive figure like George W. Bush absented himself from public view and scrutiny.

Fuck that. Why should Hillary Clinton be quiet when hers is the most intelligent and articulate voice in the room?

The anti-Hillary hatred emanating from the some on the so-called left is part of the reason that Trump is occupying the White House. But most of these people will never acknowledge their complicity in “electing” a proto-fascist. They continue to vilify her, using terms like “her continued thirst for power” as a but one arrow in their quiver.

But the rest of us know the truth. Perhaps they’re the ones that need to go live a “quiet and restful life”. They can un-retire in 2021, if they want.

Another anti-Hillary turd dropped by a so-called “progressive”.

Sanders lost by 4 million votes. Democrats just weren’t that into him. His diva-like behavior inspired the #NeverHillary crowd and set the stage for a proto-fascist to occupy the White House. Many will never forgive or forget his role in Trump’s “election”.

Because Democrats should not continue to fight 2016 (and 1992, and 1996) over again. Someone else will lead the party forward–Hillary has shot her bolt. Even if she were not such a lightning rod for rage among a portion of the people, she should get offstage and others take on the battle.

Another anti-Hillary slander.

Please state exactly what was illegal about funding the already initiated Trump dossier.

The trolls or their useful idiots are out in force today.

The “truth” is that Hillary is divisive and is hated by Republicans with the heat of a million suns. This has nothing to do with her “intelligence”… The fact that she is also disliked by some Democrats is further reason that she should remove herself from the spotlight. Her continued presence in the media is motivating Republicans and sapping the enthusiasm of Independents and some Democrats who see her as more of the same and are pleading for a new message and new messengers.

She’s the most intelligent and articulate spokesperson the Democratic Party has.

Sanders is a rapidly aging diva who specializes in selling “60 second abs”. His NY Times interview during the campaign revealed him to be inarticulate and without substance outside of his repetitive and shouted stump speeches.

No, you don’t get to tell a woman that it’s time to “go away and be quiet”.

It isn’t me who is saying that; it is Donna Brazille, a strong Clinton supporter and former Interim DNC Chair during the campaign.

Hillary rigged the primary. No one can say whether or not the outcome would have been different if it had been free and fair, but it wasn’t free and fair.

Hillary rigged it from the start. The evidence is now clear and irrefutable.

She’s not exactly center stage except when people who hate her thrust her there, and she’s not “leading” the party. She’s promoting a book and weighing in occasionally on issues of importance, which she has every right to do. She’s certainly not doing anything to shout down or squash others from “taking on the battle.” It’s just that no Obama-type figure has (yet) appeared to lead the Dems out of the wilderness, and that is not Hillary’s fault.

Yes, I know. I’ve seen the Russian ads telling us this is so.
