Discussion: Clinton: I Haven't Talked With Biden About If He's Considering Running For Pres

Discussion for article #239835

…with Biden since he reportedly began considering a bid for the presidency.

Another brilliant example of our modern-day “journalist feedback loop”. Reporters ask Hillary to respond to unconfirmed rumors coming from other reporters.

Pretty soon all those pesky voters will be removed from the conversation and the newsies can be the deciders at large.

Interesting story from salon.com making the case against Joe and a quote from 1994 in a debate with Orrin Hatch and it was a brag, not a complaint.

“Let me define the liberal wing of the Democratic Party,” he said in a 1994 debate with Sen. Orrin Hatch. “The liberal wing of the Democratic Party is now for 60 new death penalties … the liberal wing of the Democratic Party is for 100,000 cops. The liberal wing of the Democratic Party is for 125,000 new state prison cells.”

…and then, AND THEN…it becomes a story, then it goes viral, then draft Biden fan pages start popping up on social media, then a SuperPac is started to raise money for draft Biden, then they raise some cash and get really REALLY excited that this just might work, and finally, after a ton of effort, someone gets around to actually asking Biden if it’s going to run. Crushing many a hope, he says that he’s really not considering that. His fans mope for a half day on the Internet, then they realize that he didn’t actually say NO as is “No, I’m not running for President.” So (are you still with me?) they light up the boards with even more draft Biden pages and blogs because he didn’t really, really say no, and if we blog a little be harder, get our friends a little more excited… IT JUST COULD HAPPEN!

I’m just glad they finally asked a question that wasn’t related to her email.

Like we need Biden to add to Chafee and O’Malley who are nominally running for President, but seem more like a couple of “extras” pulled in to make the Democratic debates look like some sort of primary or selection process. Other than Clinton, Sanders seems to be the only one serious about running, and the press seems to be trying to kill his candidacy by no press or bad press. That leaves us with a Soviet-style Democratic primary. Here’s your nominee, Clinton, vote yes comrade.

I’m certain that last year and early this year, there were communications between them through back channels at the very least.
