New Hillary then, with a warm, caring smile, reached out and smacked Savannah hard across her unsuspecting face.
That’s a really stupid head line.
And wtf?? Carson Daly is now getting into political reporting???
It was stupid question and I loved her response
Not really if you saw the interview It was a perfect answer to a stupid question.
It was a great answer. The headline here however is still stupid. It focuses on one very stupid question asked at the very end of the interview and ignores 6 minutes of actual questions and solid responses.
Its like, “How was the concert?” “I stepped in some gum afterwards” and the headline reads “Person steps in gum after musical show”. While technically true, if your job was to review the concert, you editor probably isn’t going to accept that account.
The reporting at TPM over the past several years has declined precipitously. I think it started going downhill when Brian Beutner began writing slanted stories based on GOP spin at TPM. Hard to believe that anyone at TPM can take pride in their collective work (yes, there are still occasional good stories) when compared to what it once was.
Clinton is itching to unleash her inner wonk, but this crowd aimed low. Favorite drink, book, song? But she did take full advantage of the moment on the subject of the Benghazi witch hunt and that was impressive. She hasn’t usually shown this much passion
I will agree with the overall decline. I personally was never a “Brian hater”, and have to say he puts out some outstanding articles at TNR now.
Sahil on the other hand…that was the GOP spin meister, when he wasn’t putting out one of his endless “What if” scenarios he and his GOP buddies discussed over drinks the night before. And, though I don’t follow him, the few pieces I have seen since he left are exactly the same.
That’s a pretty fair reading on the interview. She does need to work on finding the balance between wonky and personable, but I will admit I am probably a bad person to judge that or advise on that, as I tend to like the wonky side.
