Discussion: Clinton Condemns Weinstein As More Women Allege Harassment, Assault

What a pity there’s no one of any stature in the White House who could condemn the outrageous sexual misdeeds of a Weinstein …

(America, you really blew it last November. You really did.)

Jesus Christ. I guess we can expect endless Chris Cillizza pieces on “What took her so long?” and lots of hot takes about the Democrats problem. The media has a problem with women, and Chris Cillizza is the poster child for that problem.

Also, the amount of $ donated by Weinstein over the years is dwarfed by the what fucking Mercers donated to the GOP LAST YEAR ALONE.

Once again, Mr. Weinstein is a pig. Who cares which political party he contributed money to? This is a non-story being ginned up by Republican PR people and adapted to the need to fill a 24 hr.news cycle. How anyone can use this nonsense to defend Trump is really amazing?

Why do we need to continue this dance of who condemns and who doesn’t? There’s an accused and admitted sexual harasser in the WH now that enough of the population chose to ignore. Does this matter?

Now after 5 cycles of haranguing her to weigh in, detestable MSM pundits will say, “She’s injecting herself into controversy as usual. Here’s why she’s wrong. What took her so long? Why won’t she go away?”

Plenty of talk and opinion; no illumination.

Well, I’m waiting with bated breath to see what little ol’ darcy has to say about this. Nothing good, I’m sure.

I don’t think she needed to do this. Liberals are so gullible to play to the GOP frames. They can rape and get away with it. They can take children’s health care away and get away with it. They can stiff Puerto Rico for blatantly racist motivations and get away with it. They can threaten an entire peninsula with nuclear annihilation and get away with it.

What liberals need to understand is that the news cycles are fixed quantities. If you do not set the tone and push the issues that matter to you, the other side will push theirs and you lose out. Harvey Weinstein isn’t the first predator to come to light. No one actually knows who he is outside of an elite circle. His story only matters to the MSM because he has given money to Democrats. That’s it. If he were a Republican or an Indie, this would not be a political story.

What that means is that Democrats do not need to affirm and reaffirm their moral values and play to some phony fear of being labeled a hypocrite every time someone associated with Team Blue decides to whip out a dick pic of himself. They can just say: we deplore sexual assault. Let the courts handle it. We care about children not getting health care. And yes, we do believe CHIP reauthorization is a bigger deal than Harvey Fucking Weinstein! And if the MSM and concern trolls don’t like it: fuck 'em.

I agree, and I was also certain that if and when Hillary said anything about Weinstein, it would be exactly what she did say. It’s what she believes.

Darcy is a provocateur. I hadn’t given him a thought until you mentioned him. I refuse to be baited by him.

He prefers to harass women, because that’s the kind of jerk he is.

I’m not keeping track, but it does seem to be a propensity.

While I agree with you on this, the primary reason as to why they are able to get away with this is due to certain members of the American press corps.

disagree here, because regardless of ‘length’, it would be a story.

What’s deeply disturbing is how the women who were victimized have been relegated to a secondary role as many in the MSM have turned this into a “Who’s worse, Weinstein or Trump” false equivalency fest. They are both degenerate, sick men (but only one is the POTUS). Moreover, should charges be filed, and either Trump or Weinstein end up indicted or sued in civil court, after all the MSM and national coverage, how can an unbiased jury be seated?

The Five Stages of Troll Outrage - Clinton/Weinstein Edition:

  • Stage 1: “Why hasn’t she condemned him?!”

  • Stage 2: “Why did it take her so long to condemn him?!”

  • Stage 3: “Why didn’t she condemn him more strongly?!”

  • Stage 4: “Why doesn’t she continue to condemn him?!”

  • Stage 5: “Why did she play right into GOP hands by wading into this?!”

Oh, this condemnation from Clinton will never satisfy Darcy. Darcy will demand that The Heinous and Corrupt Wall-Street Speech Giving and Emailing Corporate Democrat Bitch assassinate Weinstein on national television in prime time for once accepting campaign money from him, in the name of Our Beloved and Reverent Saints Sarandon and Stein.
Of course, she also took campaign money from another harassing pig named Donald J. Trump, that Darcy and the like helped elect in 2016 because, of course, The Heinous and Corrupt Wall-Street Speech Giving and Emailing Corporate Democrat Bitch was, according to them, no different or was worse than The Pussy-Grabbing Fucking Moron.

Sickening irony: ex-presidential candidate defeated by misogynistic rules of political engagement now forced, by the same rules, to issue a statement condemning violent misogynist. No call for the politically active Sanders to issue a statement, as far as I’m aware. Obama also gets to choose his battles.

That said, if I’d been Clinton, I would have said: “I’ve made my position on this very clear. Sexual assault is absolutely intolerable. Any person found to have committed sexual assault, including Harvey Weinstein, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. President Trump is on tape boasting about his own practice of using his power to sexually assault numerous women, and apparently has a history of complaints made against him. If the rule of law is to have any meaning, Mr Trump’s conduct should be investigated and prosecuted no differently than Mr Weinstein’s.”
