Discussion: Clinton Campaign Reserves Nearly $80M For Fall TV Ads

Just keep driving up the those rates. So by the time they realize they need to actually run ads, it’s going to cost them an arm and leg.

Deadbart spin: “What? Only 80 million? Donald has 10 Billion dollars to spend, which means…SCANDAL, HILLARY SHORT ON MONEY, EXPECTED TO DROP OUT ANY DAY NOW DUE TO DONORS DRYING UP”

Hillary continues to run a traditional state oriented campaign. Trump is running a national campaign using free media. That is probably why she is doing better in swing state polls while the national polls are tightening a little. Since it is pretty clear that she will never get any positive press while every Trumpster fire is covered 24/7, I suspect her paid ads are going to be critical for her campaign. Too bad because that means more money won’t be available to help down ballot.

I was thinking the same thing. If I could, I would spend money to bring Trump to visit some actual black people.
“What the hell do you have to lose?”
Ha.

We will spend more money down ticket this campaign season than republicans do, in the first time in a very long time. Because we have more to spend for the first time in a long time.

Chuckling because quite a few of her ads are pretty much what you suggest—simply his ravings with a bit of context. They’re well done, but he did the heavy lifting himself.

Trumps campaign isn’t going to spend much on ads but that frees Republican money for down ballot. I think the Kochs, and the other billionaires, are going to spend a lot of money on the House and Senate.

Trump: “Heavy lifting ? Not at all, is just feels natural to me, easy peasy”

Actually, you’ve got it backwards. Ads are a means by which both she and down ballot candidates can appear in the same ad and promote the ticket. So, in OH she can help boost Strickland through joint ads.

I didn’t know that each ad was tailored for each state. I live in Missouri. We don’t get to see Democratic National Party ads very often.

The most recent example, just released…

Clinton and Kaine will be in California this week (“the biggest ATM in America”) at fund raisers with some very heavy hitters including Tim Cook of Apple and its VP Lisa Jackson who was EPA administrator in Obama administration. Bill’s also been all over the state at various fundraising events. donald and his family and surrogates can’t duplicate this anywhere.

Democratic donors are opening their checkbooks wider than ever, thanks partly to looser restrictions on campaign giving in federal elections and partly to fears over the prospect of electing Republican Donald Trump. Clinton has directly raised about $264 million to date — or more than triple Trump’s total, according to figures compiled by the website OpenSecrets.org.

August fundraising must be going very well.

Some are, some aren’t. Some ads are national, some regional, some are for a particular state. Battleground state ads tend to be tailored to specific state issues, for instance. Radio ads are a prime example. In 2012, there were a lot of urban radio ads that ended with “and this why we need to vote to reelect President Obama and Senator Sherrod Brown”.

I get that buzzwords/phrases like “establishment” and “traditional campaign” are now meant as pejoratives, but sometimes the reason something is an established practice or traditional way of doing things is because it works and it’s worked time and time again.

hands you a Faygo.

Simply, I have no problem with the media covering the political equivalent of the Centralia mine fire. Now every so often, it will be necessary to remind folks that she’s still here and that she is the better alternative to whatever the modern day GOP is selling.

However, as long as Trump is willing to be Trump, for the sake of Trump; I don’t know about you, but I’m going to price some hot dogs at Walmart.
