Discussion for article #244864
There is nothing in this letter about making the desert sands of Syria glow. How are we supposed to take it seriously?
Anything about orders from Bibi?
The desperation of Team Clinton is palpable. Take it as a sign that Secretary Clinton is on the precipice of blowing another coronation…
Who do you want answering the White House phone at 3AM?
I do suspect that she isn’t liking what she’s seeing from early states.
However, if Clinton wins, I’m fine. I’d prefer Sanders. If Sanders wins, even better.
Even our worst choice is infinitely better than the other side’s, so that’s something to be happy about.
I choose Audrey Hepburn.
Oh, fercrissake, Wendy Sherman negotiated the damn Iran deal; these folks are hardly Bibi’s puppets. That said, I didn’t think this particular tack was a brilliant idea, precisely because I suspected it’d get the kind of reaction it’s getting here so far.
Whoa, you’re dissing Audrey Hepburn?!?!? Your depravity knows no bounds, sir.
I love how when Hillary doesn’t respond it’s because she thinks it’s a coronation; and when she does, it’s because she’s desperate.
You can take it however you like, but I see it as a smart move to outflank her opponent on an issue, or rather a host of issues, i.e. foreign policy and national security, where he is weak.
Hell, Sanders blames every domestic problem on Wall Street sharks or the need for campaign-finance reform, so it’s good to see people who know something about foreign policy and security issues pointing out the need for a President who knows a lot about foreign policy and security issues.
I think Sanders is utterly clueless on foreign policy and hasn’t managed to convince me otherwise, but when Obama said he would pursue high-value al-Qaida targets in Pakistan without notifying them and negotiate with Iran, the response from Hillary’s camp was to laugh at him and call him dangerously naive.
Agree 100%. The Republicans will swiftboat Sanders so fast, he won’t know what hit him. I like Bernie, but I don’t think he’s presidential material for these times…
Charming woman.
Keep it up, Hillary…because you’re only pushing me away more. But then you’ll probably say it’s my “white guilt” that explains why I’m going to vote for Bernie in the NJ primary.
And … I don’t think that pic is of Audrey Hepburn. Saw her in Love in the Afternoon the other day with Gary Cooper. Surprisingly good with powerful ending.
I quite agree with you. Or maybe I should say that, in Latin America, there have been Presidents who were “better”, but got “got” (if you know what I mean).
I like Sanders…But will enthusiastically vote for (and campaign for) Hillary Clinton. Hillary (and Bernie, should he get the nod) will need the kind of FDR-esque savvy to navigate the waters, so to speak, of the Presidency.
I was in West Germany during the Cuban Missile Crisis. My Mom and Dad (along with all the kids in our USAREUR school) were STONE scared…and JFK resolved it. LOOK magazine invoked the near-Apocalyptic nature of the Crisis.
And JFK had attained the Presidency as (compared to RMN) a “munchkin” with War Hero cred but bereft of Dick’s experience in the Executive Branch.
Probably a good move. Dem primary voters take foreign policy seriously but we don’t wet our pants over it like the GOP base. Bernie comes across as uninformed or really lacking the depth of knowledge when compared to Clinton on this, it’s an easy gain for her but I don’t know how much it impacts primary voters, at least in the early states, there may be more super tuesday states where this plays better. My guess is she’s taking the “better all around candidate” approach as Bernie is hyper focused on economic disparity.
Could be…she’s a charmer, anyway.
