Discussion: Clinton Camp Slams Trump As 'Unfit To Be Prez' For Attacks On Judge's Ethnicity

I must say, I haven’t enjoyed a Democratic presidential campaign this much…EVER!

Great guns, yes. But the Trump-friendly media is going with Trump’s “Hillary Should Go To Jail”.

Open acknowledgment that racism, Misogyny, religious intolerance and xenophobia are corner stones of modern Republicanism. Violence, fear, ignorance, and stupidity are other key Republican principles on full display this election. This is what happens when politicians listen hate radio 24/7/365 and think that they have the pulse of America. They only have the pulse of the small slice of people who listen to hate radio. There are only so many old white men in America.

There is no aspect of Trump’s history or personal affairs that will hold up for long under an examination of his fitness to be prez.

It’s only June. I wonder how much of this Trump can take before he completely implodes. He reflexively lashes out at any and all slights.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump dropped out of the race to try and save what’s left of his reputation, which is the primary source of his empire right now. If he becomes much more toxic, there won’t be anyone who wants to license his name to slap on hotels or other businesses. He’s already seeing the side effects of his campaign with the PGA moving a tournament away from a course he owns because no company wants to sponsor it.

So I guess if you’re a woman, black, Mexican, or Muslim, you can’t sit on a jury or in any way judge Trump.

Basically, that only leaves white supremacists as people worthy of judging him.

Not that he’s racist or sexist or a bigot or anything

Well, that would be the sensible thing to do.

I like this. “Unfit to be president” is short and sweet, and captures pretty much everything that’s disturbing about Trump.

And… it’s a short segue from Trump to the GOP as a whole. They picked him, almost all of them have now endorsed him, they’re going to have to answer for everything he says and does. Remind the voters about this, every day.

That may have been true earlier this week, but in the last 72 hours or so the media has absolutely, unmistakably turned on him. They’ve been hitting him almost as hard as she has.

Well, they don’t have to be supremacists or bigots. We’'ll all get along fine - as long as everyone knows his place.

Early yesterday evening, NPR did a little blub on Hillary’s speech. The NPR infotainment person called the speech very “Trump like.” I switched it off at that line. I guess the narrative will now be both sides are attacked each other so both sides are just as bad.

Pretty much. If you aren’t white, male, straight, and Christian (or have a disability) then you aren’t fit to have an opinion of Donald Trump that isn’t somehow grossly biased by your gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability status. That’s the world Trump would have us live in.

From everything I’ve seen, that speech was extremely well received in the political world. The only criticism I’ve seen is that some felt this should have been an October speech, a summation. Those folks who believe that just don’t understand that there will be many, many more of these on several different topics.

She’s pivoted and getting some of the best press she’s gotten all campaign. But a bunch of stupid ass lefties doing stupid, dangerous shit are taking up all the oxygen. Why the hell is the left so effing feckless, and increasingly so during election years?

But in the media world? I fear that their interest in continuing to make it a horse race (or now even a boxing match) will again begin to paint Trump in a far better light than he deserves. I hope you’re right though.

"“The fact that Donald Trump doesn’t see Judge Curiel and his family as Americans makes him unfit to be President of this great nation, a nation of immigrants,” she said in the statement. “In Trump’s version of America, this Latino family isn’t really American.””

Spot on!

And once you are in the White House Madam President, don’t take your foot off the gas. I want these types of responses to the senate and congressional gop/baggers too! Do NOT let them get away with their rude do nothing but insult you crap! I have had more than enough of that shit during President Obama’s term. NO MORE!

Anyways, so Clinton is running a smart general election campaign so far. This attack is making that bet that even if Donald Trump is able to run up the white male vote- and that’s still an open question according to the polling I’ve seen- it won’t be able to outpace the increase in Latino vote combined with the increased share of the Latino vote that Dems will get this cycle. It seems like common sense and math, but the way campaigns like Kerry and (sorry) Gore’s were run bordered on malpractice.
