I hope this doesn’t turn into a “elect the first woman…” thing. I don’t think that’s a winning strategy. Any type of association with feminism is extremely risky. Like I’ve said in the past, she is extremely well qualified. I’d like to see her stress that (and of course pour on the negatives toward Donald). Let’s do this type of celebrating and recognition in December after she kicks ass.

I don’t think it will. I read somewhere, maybe even here on TPM, that her campaign tested that message and found it wasn’t very effective. In fact, Hillary’s modified her stump speech and says she looks forward to becoming the youngest woman elected president to date.

Exactly. And its not just history, its catching up to where the majority of the world has already been.
Quite frankly, I have been somewhat puzzled that Hillary has downplayed this for so long. But I have every confidence she is going to strike the right balance…its historical, she is the first woman nominee for either major party, get over it. She is also probably the singularly most qualified individual to ever run for office, and is definitely the most qualified by an unbelievable margin in this General. And that is how she is going to bury Trump.
