When I visited Haiti in the late 1990s I found Haitians to be exceptionally proud people, walking tall and straight. They make incredible art–and no matter how small a town was it had a printing press. (How many tiny towns in the US boast one?)
In the Revolution of 1804 where the slaves freed themselves, they based their actions on Enlightenment thought and principles of equality before the law. When they chased out the white exploiters, they let the priests stay “because the priests had taught them how to read.” They permitted colonies of white Polish people who had come to help them, and they also kept the white lawyers to help them create their constitution.
In other words, despite claims to the contrary, they were not racist in reverse. They chased out the whites who exploited them horribly, but had caught the learning, reading and thinking bug that they have never given up.
Remember all the gasping and pearl clutching and smelling-salt sniffing by the same MSM outlets expressing outrage today after her “Basket of Deplorables” speech? Yeah, me too.
They really ought to just lock him up in a Faraday cage until the end of Shabbet this weekend.
To add to my unpopularity in these parts, I will once again point out that HRC´s State Department was involved in rolling back the [minimum wage from 62 to 31 cents per hour][1].
Contractors for Fruit of the Loom, Hanes and Levi’s worked in close concert with the US Embassy when they aggressively moved to block a minimum wage increase for Haitian assembly zone workers, the lowest-paid in the hemisphere, according to secret State Department cables.
The factory owners told the Haitian Parliament that they were willing to give workers a 9-cents-per-hour pay increase to 31 cents per hour to make T-shirts, bras and underwear for US clothing giants like Dockers and Nautica.
But the factory owners refused to pay 62 cents per hour, or $5 per day, as a measure unanimously passed by the Haitian Parliament in June 2009 would have mandated. And they had the vigorous backing of the US Agency for International Development and the US Embassy when they took that stand.
And speaking of people from “shithole” countries… this little gem just went past my desktop:
Birth tourism brings Russian baby boom to Miami
The child gets a lifelong right to live and work and collect benefits in the U.S. And when they turn 21 they can sponsor their parents’ application for an American green card.
As president, Donald Trump has indicated he is opposed to so-called chain migration, which gives U.S. citizens the right to sponsor relatives, because of recent terror attacks. And as a candidate, he called for an end to birthright citizenship, declaring it in one of his first policy papers the “biggest magnet for illegal immigration.” https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/birth-tourism-brings-russian-baby-boom-miami-n836121
I kind of doubt that Hair Furor is objecting to this “chain migration”… just the black & brown ones.
I hadn’t heard she was running for office. She’s a private citizen and to the best of my knowledge is just as entitled to sound off in public, and she’ll always make more sense than the ignorant moron. So much sexism pervades our politics and you’ve just made your contribution.
