Discussion: Clinton Appeals To Mormons In New Web Vid As Mormon GOPers Run From Trump (VIDEO)

Surely must be a coincidence…

Not bad. Could run that with any ______ for Hillary.

Very nice. Leave no voter un-reached.

I grew up in Salt Lake. Mormons are very protective of women, as there is still an attitude that women should be at home and protected, so Trump’s statements will not go over well with them. Clinton doesn’t either, because she’s the antithesis of what a woman should be. There are enough non-Mormons and Mormons who don’t follow the above stereotypes that will give Clinton enough votes to do well…the question is if the alternate candidates draw enough off of Trump for her, or one of them, to win the state. This is going to be a very interesting race to watch, which tells you how unusual this year is.

Exactly.

What I really wish we could do is show this to All Americans for HIllary!

Wait, so we know about the mass exodus of Mormon politicians abandoning Trump, but it sure looks like Trump is going to win the state in a landslide regardless. What gives? Has the movement not been tracked in the polls yet? (I see that the latest state poll is from 3 weeks ago).
Are there a ton of non-LDS repubs in Utah or what?
Or is there an actual chance that HRC could flip one of the reddest states in the nation’s recent history?

Utah has been in play since May. I don’t care what the polls have said, Mormons really hate Trump. They’ve never been too fond of Clinton, but the really hate Trump. I think the Access Hollywood video was just the final straw for them.

Only the best college athletes get to see the ad? That seems like a small segment of the population.

Indeed, quite the conundrum for the magic underwear leaders of the Mormon hierarchy.

There are some mormon men who take Trump as a role model, but even they are probably saying “Shhh, you’ll spoil it for us!”

50 state strategy Elizabeth Smart, the Utah woman who was
Kidnaped and assaulted by a radical sect of LDS has a compelling story to
tell. She’d make a
great surrogate.

Women had the right to vote in Utah in 1870. It was revoked in 1887 and later was re-established in part because the LDS church encouraged women in Utah to fight for suffrage. I think there might be something to HRC making a move there.

Touching on the immigrant minority plays into the LDS mind set of being kicked out of everywhere until they hit Utah.

That’s great but frankly I’m more concerned whether there’s a remotely competitive district in Utah where a Democrat may have a shot at swiping a seat. Congress will be the difference between a halfway effective President Clinton and 8 years of investigators asking the questions which are raised by all there investigations. Because the number of investigations raises questions, don’t you know.

Yes, I’m sure she’d get support from the “male dominant” mormons.

I think Glenn Beck just saw it.

Be nice if all political commercials could be that positive.

At this rate, they’ll have an ad targeting conservative Southern white men. Go for a win in all 50 states! (Well, forget Alabama.)
