Wrong! Of course you can stand your ground if it looks like you might lose the argument.
So, how did this person end up as a poll worker??? We trusted this person in Ohio with one of our most sacred rights as citizens?
Alan Bethea, 45, took a .380 pistol out of his backpack during a heated exchange with co-workers at the Louisa May Alcott School polling stationā¦
Because me and this .380 here says I win the argumentā¦ The winning hand every time. So what you say?.. The felony conviction means I canāt ever have a gun it again? The NRA made sure that Congress does not allow law enforcement to trace crime guns. So only a scrupulous dealer and Internet gun seller will even ask me if I have a felony conviction. And it is so hard to find a straw dealer or unlicensed one who wonāt ask that question. Hah! No worries for the many who know they can deal me a gun without fear of ever being held accountable in the absence of effective gun tracing.
What a joke Congress has become to make itself complicit in gun violence.
On top of all that, this happened at a polling place located inside a school.
Now, most places on election day (primary or otherwise) close school during polling hours. Not sure if thatās the case here, but most places ban guns in schools.
Wouldnāt that be another charge against this guy? Or maybe not, since school was not in session, possibly?
Iāve been working elections in my area going back almost 20 years. Up until 2008, I would invariably be the youngest person working there, and I was well into middle age then.
Butā¦ butā¦ he was just pulling out his 2nd Amendment Freedom-Dispenserā¢
Little Women Packing Heat is my favorite Louisa May Alcott novel.
All you have to do, at least in New York state, is be a registered voter and take a test with your county Board of Elections.
Texas and Arizona allow guns in public buildings, schools and Arizona even allows them in places where alcohol is served. ā¦ like in bars. Now, what could possibly go wrong when a drunk takes exception in an argument while holding a hogleg (thatās āside armā to the uninitiated)?
Some days it does feel like up is down, being out is in, and unicorns and rainbows make more sense than what our countryās leaders are advocating. Itās a challenge to be a reality-based carbon life form. Very little confirmation out there these days that helps validate ones ideas and opinions it seems. And yetā¦here I am.
Most of my local precinct poll workers are neighbors of mine whom I am acquainted with. They would not mind my characterization of them knowing it was not meant in a mean spirited way.
When I voted in a polling place in a nearby school they did not close the school. Instead they set a section off to the side for the polls in the library or gymnasium, depending on what kind of election it was. They have since moved my polling place to a retirement home where the elderly white folks there can easily cast their votes. I found the change of location disturbing considering they did this to several schools in my area, in favor of old folks homes that tend to lean more heavily Republican. I canāt say I was surprised though.
And I just knew it would beā¦
CRuz is better than Trump ! No Trump is Better ! FUK U !!! BAM BAM BAM !
HA ! TRUMP !
If he was waving the gun around in support of his argument, he should be protected by both the First and Second Amendments, no?
All the unvaccinated kids were killing the old folks.
Ah, Louisa May Alcott School. Known for pulling out guns at election polls as she was for her writing.
Because guns keep people safe. Well, maybe not.
The Tree of Liberty under which lies a bunch of voters who just had heart attacks. The only place one really need guns is at a Trump rally where that coward Trump wonāt let his patriots carry them to protect himself.
No, you shouldnāt have a gun if you are mentally-impaired or blind. However, the GOP is going to fix that. The NRA says thereās a big untapped market for the blind and Palin voters.
If a fugitive from justice carries firearms he or she is said to have weapon while under disability.emphasized text
One might think that the Republicans are packing the polling places with Bundy advocates.
