Discussion: City Bans Kangaroos As Service Animals After Woman Booted From McDonald's

Discussion for article #237548

They should just ban the humans that try to use Kangaroos as service animals, not the poor Kanga’s themselves.

miniature horse?

So, a cat is not okay, but a horse is?

Come now.

tucked it in an infant car seat, then took it inside a McDonald’s

What the hell, Beaver Dam? Wisconsin is supposed to be an open carry state.

So what did the roo do that was so terrible it merited a 14-0 vote against it? How could a baby kangaroo be more disruptive in a McD than a miniature horse? There have been allegations of both being in the burgers.

So are boa constrictors still okay? Asking for a friend…

Aww, dang. My, uh, friend is going to be disappointed.

That is what I want to know. I mean, I would think that people at the restaurant would love an opportunity to see a baby kangaroo.

How does one even obtain a pet kangaroo?

Hey common council? I am inquiring as to the definition of a miniature horse. do you guys have 18 inch horses up there?
Be a really neat pet. Must be smaller than a baby roo. I’m guessing the kangaroo would be insulted after this vote. Maybe a call to gloria is in order so rights cannot be infringed upon.
But but but, what about the “Beaver” thing. Can they go anywhere they want as they usually do.

Why?

Why a kangaroo? Is she still upset over Steve Irwin’s death?

So…what about 100 miniature horse sized ducks?

Roo’s aren’t service animals. Never have been. The “service animal” thing is largely a scam. There are tons of websites that will send you a service dog pack ( a button, harness and such ) for payment. These dogs are no more a service dog than I am. The ADA defines a service dog or service animal as one that has received resident certified training to help a person do what they cannot do alone. Seeing eye dog for example. Just because you bought a “service dog” package does not make it so and most are simply dogs the owner is trying to get over with.

Was typing when you posted. Saving myself the finger exercise, the New Yorker had a funny article on just this.

Joeys are sometimes useful to deal with emotional distress.

So I’m told.

Where I live in West Los Angeles, I’ve seen an increasing amount of people who have “service dogs” in restaurants and other places that dogs aren’t supposed to be. These people don’t appear on the surface to have any need for the dog, and seem very much like they just got a service designation so they could take their dog everywhere. I don’t personally have a problem with dogs in most of the places, but lots of people do. What pisses me off about the people who are abusing the system is that they are endangering the ability of people who genuinely need service animals to be able to bring their pets with them. It’s become one of my pet peeves (no pun intended) in the last year or so.

Also, the bathroom for urgently needed drinks from the sink and/or tub.

I will concede that they let me roam pretty much at will anywhere I want in the house.
