Discussion for article #222745
Iâm surprised he didnât claim that it would HELP him.
He certainly wonât have a clear, smooth glide to the White House as he may have had before this.
If Governor Christie can make a prediction, so will I.
Republican primary challengers will use BridgeGate against him.
Rand Paul already did when he said, âI have been in traffic before and I know how angry I am when Iâm in traffic and Iâve always wondered, âWho did this to me?ââ
âI didnât do anythingâ âŚgreat summation, Christie.
He sure is in a hurry to make this go away and in his favor.
Whatâs the rush, Christie?
Oh No Guv ? What about things like this then:
"TRENTON â Moodyâs Investors Service downgraded the stateâs debt on Tuesday night, the latest Wall Street credit-rating agency to sound the alarm this year about New Jerseyâs finances.
Following downgrades by Fitch Ratings earlier this month and Standard & Poorâs in April, Moodyâs lowered its credit rating for New Jersey by one step, from Aa3 to A1.
The ratings cut, two weeks after Gov. Chris Christieâs administration disclosed an $807 million shortfall in the state budget, was the latest sign that New Jerseyâs ailing fiscal condition is taking a turn for the worse."
Or maybe something like this.
"Gov. Chris Christie gutted the âSandy Bill of Rightsâ this week, dismissing it as âpartisanâ even though not a single legislator voted against it.
The point of the legislation was to ensure that people who feel trapped in the recovery process have certain basic rights, such as a clear explanation about the status of their application. Thousands of storm victims still have not received their federal aid and, at the very least, the state owes them transparency.
In his conditional veto, written in typical bureaucratese, Christie suggests the legislation clashed with federal law and added âwasteful administrative burdens.â
Nonsense. The bill included a clear caveat that if any of its provisions conflicted with federal law, federal law would win out. The governorâs office had plenty of opportunity to give input to the Legislature. And its provisions are hardly wasteful."
He also added that because of Bridgegate he will lose 350 pounds by the end of 2014.
Keep up the smug attitude, tubby - the truth will eventually be revealed that (a) youâre a vindictive prick, willing to let your constituents suffer in the process, or (b) an incompetent manager who lacks the ability to control his staff. Either way - your national political ambitions are over. Stay in New Jersey - the assholes (including any Democrats) who voted for you deserve your rotund ass - they can keep it.
And we have a winner!!! Even if the so-called âliberal mediaâ stopped talking about this tomorrow, you can bet your last penny that Rand Paul and, eventually, the Dem candidate will use it most every day. Being cleared of this mess has nothing to do with his political future.
Get used to Trenton 'cuz youâll be there a while longer.
Christie Predicts BridgeGate Will Have Zero Effect On His Political Future
What political future?
Heâs right. BridgeGate is just the tip of the iceberg.
âthis will be a footnote by the time any of these decisions are made.â
The footnote is now part of the decision making processâŚand the time for making those decisionsâŚalready started.
So yeah, he is a huge rush to make this disappear. But it wonât. Far too many threads got exposed and are now being pulled making his whole image unravel.
Exactly so â even without âBridgegate,â Christie has plenty of baggage. Rachel Maddow pointed out on her show last night that this is the sixth downgrade New Jerseyâs credit rating has received since Christie became governor. That doesnât say much for his fiscal management.
And with his mismanagement of the Hurricane Sandy relief, I doubt he could even win New Jerseyâs votes for president.
Heâs sounding pretty cocky! Itâs way to premature to be predicting this investigationâs outcome.
Neither will your health, or lack thereof.
Is he putting weight back on?! That was the whole reason he was running, to get healthy. Iâd say your political future is in jeopardy in more ways than one dude. Did the people of NJ pay for that gastric bypass surgery?
Spot on! Former Exit 119/Exit 105, now reviling Corbett.
I donât think his âpolitical futureâ means what he thinks it means.
Heâs whistling by the graveyard.
Iâll give it better than 50-50 that he wonât finish his 2nd term.
If he does finish it, he wonât be re-elected nor will he be nominated for POTUS.
People are wise to this tub of guts.
