Discussion: Christie: Inaugural Probe 'Much More Concerning' Than Mueller Investigation

In other words, Barr is more crooked than a Texas fence.

Well this is both true and not true.

We know that Mueller has been turning over things to the SDNY that are ‘outside’ his scope but clearly criminal acts. But more importantly by diversifying and outsourcing these items he prevents corrupt administrators at the DOJ from being able to easily shutdown his investigation.

Moreover given the Intelligence issues involved and potential to impact on ‘sources & means’, it was always likely that this would be pursued as more of a corruption, conspiracy and financial crimes effort.

Barrs Iran-Contra History should have made him a no-go from the start. But his hearings boxed him in fairly well with his written opinions about perjury and obstruction.

“Unlike Bob Mueller who has restrictions placed upon him by the deputy attorney general when he was appointed – that his inquiry is on Russia, interference in the election, and potential Russian collusion –

Yeah, some restriction. It’s like telling my kid, “You can only drive in North America, and only from12:10am to 11:56pm.”

Thank you, Chris Christie, for your comments with significant sub-text, i.e. trying to hawk your book…

This is a twofer for Christie. He gets a paying gig, which he needs badly and he gets to put the screws to Trumps team while pretending he isn’t.

And besides Christie was there, he knows that every crime described in the book was being committed, and many that weren’t but that ought to be included.

Particularly the way Donnie two scoops and associates have behaved, yeah, they covered all the criminal behavior bases.

Of course Mueller has to outsource to deal with all that crap.

And better yet, he gets to put the screws on Trump’s team for something (the inauguration) that he had nothing to do with, and the kids - who he hates - were involved in.

Christie was tossed out of Trump world by the Kids, and he wants revenge, while pretending that he is really supporting Trump, who would have been great, if Christie had just been left in charge of the transition team…

I agree with Christie. When it comes to desolating Trump utterly – his wealth, his brand, his future prospects – my money’s on the courts. They’re the ones who are going to perp walk him --and hopefully his good for nothing sons and son in law – and it will be glorious. I’m waiting for the day.

Have any House committees scheduled hearings on this yet?

He is not a reliable witness, as he claims that the Russian Conspiracy is nothing. He expresses willful ignorance of the history of Trump’s Russian-money manipulations in the past, leading to Kompromat and slavish Trumpian behavior re Putin and the Oligarchs. He simply dismisses it without acknowledging the long list of lies, contacts, and miscreants with Russian connections. He toadies with the best of them.

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ®, who previously served as a U.S. attorney, told MSNBC on Tuesday that he sees the new probe into the Trump inaugural committee, and other investigations by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, as “much more concerning” than special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

I’d think the main reason he’d describe the investigations by the Southern District of New York as “much more concerning” is that convictions of violations of state law aren’t pardonable by the President. As long as the crimes being charged are ruled as having occurred within the jurisdiction of the state of New York they can be prosecuted by a court in SDNY and any resulting convictions are unpardonable by the President or his successors (cough Pence cough).

CORRECTION: as commenter kenneth_thomas points out in his reply the SDNY is a federal court. My mistake.

I just want as many state charges as possible on as many Trump Crime family members as possible.

I have absoultely no faith in the GOP doing the right thing when Mr. Mueller unloads on Donnie & Co.

This is the one place for which I will listen with interest to Christie. His role in previous investigations as a prosecutor gives him some merit.

And he just might get it. He might have been able to give them the benefit of his experience in previous cases to help cover up their crimes more. Now he can just go all exposition on them. Too bad, so sad.

Oh, puhleeze, puhleeze, puhleeze don’t omit Ivanka in that little band of bandits. She’s right in there with “the boys” in every way. We don’t want to be sexist, do we?

Christie’s just bloviating again. Needs his book royalties, while still sucking up to & reassuring Trump.

Mueller’s assignment was actually quite broad, including “any” other crimes the Russia investigation might discover. He may be handing them out like candy to other prosecutors, since the entire GOP is shielding Trump, probably complicit in his treason. They’ll try to cover up the report, and Trump will start pardoning people right and …further right.
