What fight is that exactly. I think it’s the fight between him having to actually be clear on his stance and him remaining vague in hopes of pissing off the least people.
Bridgeghazi is still a huge cloud following Chris Christie around everyday of his life. He can pretend to be past it or unconcerned but that is all that really matters to him and his future. He should be advocating for greatly improved prison conditions because that is more apropos to him, if, you get my drift.

I honest-to-God, no snark, do not understand why the GOP insists on being the party of government-in-your-bedroom [1]. Even they should be able to figure out that voters who like to get it on outnumber the ones who don’t.
However, if they want to continue to kill their appeal among women (50% of the vote) or younger voters (~15%), great.
I’m speaking as a Democrat, of course.
[1] In its myriad forms besides their opposition to gay marriage, such as their opposition to access to birth control of all sorts (including abortion), and to every form of private consenting-adult sexual expression that isn’t straight married couples specifically trying to keep the species from dying out; abstinence “education,” which amounts to using public resources to propagandize the GOP policy that sex is this terrible, horrible, deadly thing.
