Discussion: Christie: I Was Not 'Held Hostage' At Trump Press Conference

Discussion for article #246834

Is Christie angling for a cabinet post if Trump gets the White House? Long shot is better than no shot, I reckon.

He’s right, though: what’s to smile about as you calculate the odds of staying out of prison if things go wrong? They don’t seem real good at the moment…

Bitch, please! The only thing missing was the .44 Magnum to your head and your balls in Trump’s hand.

Probably. I think the article should have included a few quotes from Christie explaining why 6 New Jersey papers are asking him to resign. It was pure Christie bluster and defensiveness - ā€œWell, I came back to New Jersey for the rest of this weekā€ and then something about "after I take a few days off. . . " Are New Jersey residents really going to buy this?

ā€œThey are trying to find some way to be relevant,ā€ he said of the newspapers, which he said are seeing a decline in revenue.

I’d say they are succeeding spectacularly.

Yes, it’s the newspapers seeking relevance not the desperate man at the podium.

This is exactly what someone being held hostage would say!

They won’t buy it. But what are they gonna do? He’s served two terms and, by all appearances, hates being governor of NJ. He’s not running fo re-election surely. Much like the Honey Badger, he just doesn’t give a sh*t.

No, he wasn’t held hostage - that would imply he was there unwillingly.

He was there as Trump’s lapdog, complete with a pretty little collar and leash.

I can’t draw, but I just love coming up with imagery. I’m just envisioning a drawing that shows Derpy-D holding a string that leads to a stick that is propping up one side of a giant box hovering over a Hometown Buffet…and Christie rapidly rolling towards it…

He was just upset that someone else got the last few cookies.

When asked about Trump’s interview in which he avoided disavowing former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, Christie said that Trump is ā€œnot a bigot.ā€

And this is not a lemon:

Beat me to it, though I am thinking more along the lines of his wife and/or loved ones are being held hostage at one of many luxurious Trump properties. Have they been seen recently?

Trump isn’t a bigot, he’s a racist, Chris. I’m sure Christie is hoping to help him out with that as he tries to grift the AG slot in a Trump administration.

ā€œNo, I wasn’t being held hostage,ā€ Christie said at a press conference in New Jersey. ā€œI wasn’t upset. I wasn’t angry,ā€ he continued, while frantically nodding his head.

CC comes to the realization that he is unwelcome in NJ, that his political career is in shreds and he’s got a lot of ā€˜splainin’ to do.

In all fairness holding Krispy hostage is a fool’s errand; the amount of ransom required to cover feeding him would give a whole new meaning to ā€œon-going negotiations.ā€

This new jersey resident isn’t. You can also see it in his declining ratings. I still don’t know why people voted for him in the first place.
It’s almost sad that he’s been reduced to plagiarizing trump. That line about newspapers being irrelevant is straight out of trump’s attack on the daily news.

This guy is still toast after he left his campaign behind. Now most of NJ says he’s not only toast, they’d like him to step down or get ready to be thrown out of office. Yep, throw the bum out!

Gotta hand it to this jackass, he sure knows how to make everyone hate him equally.
