Discussion: Christie Dodges Answering Whether Refugees Living In NJ Should Have To Leave

Discussion for article #243099

“Jake, what should’ve happened is we should’ve been informed about it and we were not,” Christie said. “We should have these folks vetted and vetted well.”

Really? I’ll bet that if you check with your state’s social services people who care for relocated refugees (Dept. of Social Services or Human Services in most states), you’ll find they were aware of the situation. If your own office–the governor’s office–was not notified, perhaps you should inquire as to why NJ’s Dept. of Social Services (or Human Services, etc.) did not notify your office … if that is how the system is supposed to work, that is.

And since you are a bully, governor Porky, maybe you should run for president of Russia.

As a NY’er, I’m gonna take a guess that DeBlasio will be Mayor of this city long after that grotesque sh*t bag is run out of Jersey.

How’s that 2% working out for you McFatty?

He knows they were rigorously vetted. It’s not politically convenient right now to acknowledge that fact. He won’t answer the question because he is already losing, so this would make it even worse.

I am glad you feel that way because to hear the MSM, he’s very unpopular. So which is true? Just curious

If the Republican Party despises “leading from behind”, then why do they continue to let their base lead them around by the nose? Their gutlessness and reliance on demagoguery to advance their campaigns should be disqualifying.

Its not even a bet. Every state has a position that works directly with the federal government regarding relocation of refugees. New Jersey is no exception.

Christie is blowing smoke out his ass, because he knows that Very Serious Jake won’t push back in the least. Tapper knows, for instance, exactly what I just said about the liaison position in every state, just like he knows that the vetting process is incredibly stringent and takes somewhere between 18-24 months.

But Jake has a message he wants out there, which is be afraid, be very afraid, America. So anybody that can further that message, Jake is all on board with.

And the irony that Jake found out his ancestors were actually a bunch of Tories that left the country and settled in Canada, only returning after the war was over, is completely lost on him. Sure, he had great fun reporting on it (and why in the world is a reporters personal ancestry news worthy is a CNN phenomena), but having the self realization to draw parallels or contrasts to that is well beyond his limited scope as human being.

“New York City voters give Mayor Bill de Blasio a divided job approval rating, as 45 percent approve and 46 percent disapprove, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.”

And yet another epic fail by CNN/Tapper for failing to confront him with the fact that the vetting process is already quite thorough, detailed and complex. CNN asks questions which are designed to enable the person being asked to get out of any tough issues. Typically followed by, “Well, we are out of time so we will leave it at that.” This Week on ABC is famous for the latter.

Which comes out in rings because it must first pass around his head.

As someone pointed out the other day it’s just another episode of Jake and the Fat Man.

I only know of one individual that NJ should send packin’ — There’s just no form of transportation that seems to work out —

Um, Chris? They were vetted. It’s the federal government’s job to manage immigration and make determinations on who goes where.

This might be useful:

I should amend my prior comment to " send him floatin’ " —

I take issue with your headling. There is no way that Christie could ever “dodge” anything, other than maybe a slow moving flow of molasses moving uphill.

Christie thinks there is no vetting process already in place. Here’s what Christie chose to ignore for the sake of political expediency:

He would have his rubes believe we just let anyone waltz in w/o checking them out. Terrorism coming from refugees is not likely at all. How many acts of terrorism have been committed by refugees here in the US? Is it not more likely to happen either by an American citizen (Oklahoma city for example) or someone coming here as a tourist? After all it is legal for a tourist w/o local convictions here to buy a gun. And it is republicans and the NRA who are all absolutely FOR arming everyone to the teeth irrespective of who they are. Just ask Wayne LaPierre. Buying a gun is the macho manly thing to do, goddamit.

Remember Christy is afraid, very afraid. First he imprisoned a healthcare volunteer upon her return from Africa because he was afraid and now he is too afraid of 5 year old refugees to offer them asylum.

What a man.
