Discussion for article #239044

Flippin’ Christie?

Only in the Vomit Comet.

I know, that’s a visual you didn’t need.

“They are only here to work and support their families”

we need a way to stop that… It was so much easier when you could call them lazy…

“I met lots of undocumented folks in my state over the course of my time as governor, I can tell you not one of them has ever said to me that they had come here to vote. This path to citizenship stuff is garbage,” Christie said. “That’s not why they’re coming. They’re coming to work and support their family.”

I dare say almost all immigrants, legal or otherwise, come here to work and make a better life for themselves and their family. Hardly anyone will tell you their primary reason for coming is to vote, which doesn’t mean that they don’t want to vote or see it as an important part of citizenship.

It’s not about why they’re coming. It’s about what our principles and values are.

Teatroll Rosetta Stone: “NO MORE BROWN VOTERS!!!”

That’s all this has ever been about. Black dude gets elected POTUS by an overwhelming majority of the record-breaking minority turnout and suddenly illegal immigration is the tantrum du jour for 7 years? This isn’t differential equations calculus here. 2 + 2 = Teatroll white supremacists are driving the GOP clown car.

No, Chris, they were making an unkind remark and said you looked like a P-A-N-D-A, not that it looked like you needed to PANDER!!

If they’re not coming to vote then that begs the question of why all those Voter ID laws are necessary.

Does Christie not realize he’s undermining one of the big GOP conspiracy talking points?

Sometimes I think that Tierney Sneed needs to be careful - she’s coming close to doing actual journalism here at TPM.

Has become the GarbageState --with a lot of help from Christie.

Wow has this guy turning into a smelly putrid mess! And to think that just 18 months or so ago I thought this turd was the one to beat.

The repugs will never have a consistent answer. No way will they ever fine employers for hiring undocumented. My god, they are the JOB CREATORS, don’t cha know.

The New Jersey windsock. Quelle surprise.

cracking down on businesses that hire immigrants who are here illegally is the best way to solve the problem. Focus on the demand for immigrant workers and not the supply

He went on to outline his plan to use E-Verify and fines to discourage businesses from hiring undocumented immigrants.

“The fines are going to be large enough that it will wipe out any profit margin they get hiring cheaper, illegal labor – believe me, business reacts to the bottomline,” Christie said.

Since Christie thinks this is such a great idea, and he’s the Governor of New Jersey, I’m sure he’s already implemented these steps in his home state. How have they worked out?

“I met lots of undocumented folks in my state over the course of my time as governor, I can tell you not one of them has ever said to me that they had come here to vote.”

He better tell his party because they think these undocumented folks are voting everywhere all the time. Doesn’t he know that it’s the undocumented folks that are putting democrats into office? That democrats couldn’t win without their vote? Geesh - he needs to get edumacated.

He’s had to ’ flip ’ to keep hold of the votes .

Good thought here. eVerify should be routinely used to ensure that folks are legal.

Never mind what I said before. I’m running for President, for Pete’s sake!
