Discussion for article #238795
Um, the headline led me to believe Christie stood up to a gun activist, but in reality, he went out of his way to fellate the gun nuts. You got my click through this time TPM, but you keep this up and we lose trust.
So basically he was trying to out pro-gun the pro-gun guy.
“Well listen here’s the news for anybody who’s governor or President. You’re not emperor or dictator.”
But if you are a Democratic mayor and don’t pay fealty to me the emper…I mean governor, then the bridges WILL be closed!!
UGH. Watching this slow motion train wreck of a WH bid is really irritating because it makes me take my eyes off the faster moving train wrecks that are more entertaining. Tell me when he starts juggling chain saws.
“Artisanal” popcorn ain’t cheap, ya know.
Your picture of Christie at the top of the post is priceless. It looks like he’s about to perform a pirouette (did I spell that correctly?).
Seriously, despicable as Christie is, I give him credit for bluntly telling off a guy who doesn’t have the facts right. Of course, that assumes that Christie as accurately characterized his record; I don’t know if that’s correct or not.
New Joisey/Ioway culture clash. Move along folks
The man, who CNN reported was affiliated with Iowa Gun Owners advocacy group, was critical of Christie's stance on guns.

Christie Slams Iowa Gun Activist: 'Your Point Of View Is Dead Wrong'
Yeah, but that’s like shooting fish in a barrel.
Christie’s stance on guns in this pic could have morphed into a pirouette (correctomundo) or even a plie.
Well, props to just saying to someone “You’re wrong.” More politicians should tell their bases, you’re wrong. You’re dead wrong. You are forming opinions on the wrong facts.
Yeah, but he was telling a critic, “You’re wrong to criticize me, I am 110% on your side.” So, not so brave.
It’s interesting that the NRA would bother trolling Christie’s view on anything since he hasn’t the slightest chance of getting beyond a couple primaries before he’s run out of gas or indicted back home.
Agree with other that the headline is poorly written.
I just can’t stand this guy.
But, I do like the ballerina pose. Please pirouette, please.
Not to mention the “Sponsored Message” abominations on the Front Page.
Whoring it up much TPM?
I know you have to pay the bills but come on…
A thin-skinned bigmouth who tries to bully anyone who disagrees with him. Yeah, that’s just who we need in the White House…in Bizzaro World! Krispy Kreme is going nowhere fast, but he seems to be the only person in the world who is not aware of this fact. The last time I see/hear anything about this ass will be one of the happiest days of my life.
Watching this bully belittle the gun rights guy actually had me feeling sorry for him. It must have felt humiliating to be loudly lectured and told off in front of a crowd like this. I have no time for the NRA view on guns and gun legislation, but this fellow deserved to be treated respectfully. Christie is just an obnoxious jerk.
With all the pirouette talk, somebody had to go fetch this:
Facts and Republican are anathema. This is your legacy. You helped build this. Facts . . . . . don’t make me laugh.
Yeah, let’s all vote for the verbally abusive raging a*hole bully for President. He will set a fine example for children in this country and will work wonders for our foreign relations.
So, was Christy defending being pro-gun, pro-facts, or pro-control? Some gun nut was worried that Christy was strong-armed into loosening gun regulations?
What are your facts to back up that I’m anti-gun?" Christie said.
The man responded that Christie was “strong-armed” into New Jersey legislation that loosened some regulations for gun owners.
“Who’s muscled me?” Christie countered.
“Gun owners,” the man responded.
But what you’re obligated to do, with all due respect, is have a few facts at your disposal and not just an impression that you want to have because your impression is wrong and the facts are wrong.
