Discussion for article #232491

Cool he can’t win anything but he can burn up GOP’er resources. Let him have his fun.

Not a big step, but a step with a lot of weight behind it.

The problem with tough-talking bullies is that underneath the bluster and the afflicting of the weak, they’re cowards who come apart like a cheap suit when the going gets personally tough. As several former staffers with the bus tire marks on their backs can attest.

He is still a thug in a suit.

And, sorry to generalize, but a chubby bully with a lisp is just pathetic.

The clown cavalcade can go on several months on his biofuel.

Not to get picky but wouldn’t any step taken by the blobby Governor be a big one?

He’s in.

It’s a shame this Northeastern Taig won’t get any traction … the base doesn’t recognize a strong pimp hand when they see it

Yes he is. Which means he must feel pretty comfortable with his chances of walking away from all the related Bridgegate scandals.

His path forward is incredibly precarious at this point, however. The scandals buried him at a critical time…when he was supposed to be taking victory laps and solidifying himself as the Only Obvious Choice. Instead he fell off the radar at a crucial time, and saw his fund raising drying up as well.

But he also knows its now or never. If he doesn’t at least run this year, he has no hope in 2020 or 2024. Basically, he is going with the oft proved correct, slender reed of hope, that somebody else in the race will blow up even worse than he did.

I think that “run” is not what I would use: “waddle” might be more appropriate.

We he should do well with the fat and corrupt voters.

It’s now or never for Christie,Jeb,Romney,Walker,Kasich,Perry and Jindal.

Walker can probably forgo a run in 2016 and still be alright in 2020/24. However, he really doesn’t want to, as there is nowhere else for him to go after leaving the WI governor post. It would be very hard for him to keep his name relevant if he isn’t in some sort of public office (and no, being a defendant in a government trial doesn’t count).

Perry and Jindal are both sort of caught in that trap right now. They both cease to exist politically very soon. Perry, right after he drops out of the nomination process again, and Jindal probably even earlier.

As for the rest, yeah, you are pretty much dead on, though one could argue that Romney is already past his expiration date politically, and that Jeb’s best chance was in 2000.

Not 2020. Walker would be running against an incumbent. Tall hill to climb.

Started to say now or “never again” for Romney.

Since it was a BIG one, I gather this step wasn’t on the George Washington Bridge.

So, again, it looks as though the establishment wing is so egotistical that they’re all going to get in the race and almost guarantee a wingnut nominee.

Nothing better than a Republican circular firing squad. Ready, fire, aim!
