Chris Christie Being Considered For Attorney General

He’s only being ā€œconsideredā€ so he can be rejected, because Chris Christie, after debasing himself, has become Trump’s personal punching bag. Christie has been endlessly jerked around the last two years because he keeps crawling back no matter how much he gets picked on and pushed around.

It’s the fate of bullies to end up being bullied by a bigger one. I don’t feel sorry for him.

Just a distraction until Kris Kobach comes out of the bathroom, where he has been crying since late Tuesday night…

Probably won’t pick Kobach now that he’s an official loser. We all knew he was worse than a loser but now it’s recorded he lost an election.

KKKobach doesn’t seem to know too much about the law, so he’d be a perfect Trump pick. I’m sure the republicans would confirm him, despite his ā€œfailings.ā€

That list is a rogues’ gallery of political hacks, isn’t it? Most of them would have to recuse themselves from oversight of Mueller, so Trump must be counting on a quick KO from Whitaker.

Christie will never be AG - he has his faults (and having lived under his admin for 8 years, I’m no fan) but I do not see him covering for Donald, breaking the law or risking his reputation for him. Donald knows this (Its why he was dumped from transition team - he couldn’t count as be willing to ā€˜play’ fast and loose with rules like Gates, Pence, Flynn, etc)

I don’t think Christie is being seriously considered. He has a history and wants a future. It is better than even money that he wouldn’t stop the Mueller investigation.

Oh, FUCK ME!

Good point. There are other Kobachs out there who haven’t lost…
yet. In a battle with Mueller? Hahaha!

Not gonna happen. Not even a story.

As this rumor originated with Laura Ingraham, I put zero stock in the possibility of it being remotely true.

I don’t know if the rumor is true, but the fact that it’s out there tells us something: that the Whitaker appointment isn’t working out. He’s horribly compromised, is a total hack, and cannot act as effective spy or watchdog for Trump because he has no stature, legal standing or respect within the DOJ.

Trump’s firing of Sessions is looking more and more like an impulsive move, a reaction of anger and frustration at getting his ass kicked by the Democrats on Tuesday and what it means for Mueller’s standing. It does not look to me, for the moment, as a carefully well thought out strategy.

Christie, at least on tv, has given somewhat acceptable answers regarding the rule of law and protecting the Mueller investigation. If he addresses those issues + the family separation policy well, he would stand a decent chance at a bipartisan confirmation. I think it would also mean that Rosenstein stays as Deputy AG and head of the Mueller probe.
