Discussion: China's Approval Of 13 Ivanka Trump Trademarks Raises Brows At WH

The headline is slightly misleading. The eyebrows being raised are not from the WH, but from the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics. Big difference.

Anyone think Trump or his minions are troubled by this “beautiful trademark deal?”

I like to send these articles to a co-worker who insisted that Bill and Chelsea would be all up in government business if Hillary won.

Her mailbox was full months and months ago. Moran.

Yeah, it’s much more than “slightly” misleading. When I read the headline I thought, for a moment, we’d gone through the looking glass again and that someone somewhere in the WH had developed a conscience and a concern for optics.

But, no, it turns out it’s just corruption and grift as usual in the WH, i.e., SSDD -> same shit, different day.

Maybe “Rampant” and “Flagrant” are just her new perfume brands.

I have never seen an Ivanka product anywhere. I wouldn’t buy an Eva Braun coffee maker or Baby Doc Onsies - there can’t be enough 45* 's supporters to keep this junk going. Why would it have traction anywhere else?

yes, they probably wonder why she doesn’t have 100 trademarks.

Grifter! I can’t stand this witch with her plasticine face. But hey, she’s juat securing her future in the Asian markets, why not? She’ll need it when the Kush and Daddy are in the slammer!

They don’t even try to hide it. Why bother?

Such grifters. Perhaps American voters need to get a bit better acquainted with the Chinese concept of guanxi. What we see as corruption, isn’t necessarily corruption in the Chinese mind. Which is partly why China remains stuck in such high levels of corruption in its Transparency International scores for perceived corruption.

“In a Chinese setting, the greater proportion of instrumental exchanges was focus on super-ordinates. This is a filial relationship taking place, a vertical relationship, and it means that a lot of information and resource-seeking is focused on the supervisor. You don’t observe this in other cultures,” she said.

Americans, on the other hand, had more short-term instrumental ties, suggesting they got what they needed and moved on, and less overlap of informal ties. Germans in the workplace were more oriented to adhering to rules and discussing job-related topics. Spaniards spent more time on friendships and discussing non-work related topics.

This social network approach was only the first step towards understanding guanxi. Another study by Professor Sullivan looked at “felt obligation” between employees – the idea that if someone in your network provides you with resources, you feel obliged towards them.

The Trump family doesn’t “do” ethics, so there are no raised eyebrows at the WH.

Kleptocracy at it’s most efficient.

Unfortunately for Americans, China became the world’s biggest economy in PPP-adjusted terms already in 2014. Trump may talk MAGA, but China is MAGA-er (more MAGAish?). Trump wouldn’t even make it to a local official post in Chinese politics.

Too much Botox to get them to rise anyway.

Securing the trademarks, even “defensively,” is the first step toward marking her branded products in China. After all, the Dotard, 16-century mercantilist that he is, thinks it is terribly important to reduce the imbalance of trade between the U.S. and China. As others have pointed out, it will be awfully difficult for the U.S. to produce and market more products in China. But, Ivanka to the rescue!

As a Star Trek fan, I feel compelled to respect all silicon(e)-based life forms. But in this case …

The effect of corruption in government is to direct the cash flow from the needs of the taxpayer citizens to the pockets of the corrupters. Trump and Thugs, Inc. here show a blatant example of foreign government bribery. What the Chinese expect in return is going to be a hell of a lot more than what the crime family will get from the deal. Death of government through corruption while raking in billions works for the GOP, so expect zero criticism of the Thug.

Trump did a 180 degree change in US policy with China. Rather than sanctioning the Chinese telecom company committing all sorts of offenses, he now seeks to help it. Instead of slapping substantial tariff penalties on China, he backs off.

We all know why. It’s a combination of China’s $500 million “investment” in a Trump Co. Indonesian project, Ivanka’s miraculously granted trademarks, and God knows what other behind the scenes likely outright bribes to Trump.

Life in a Kleptocracy, folks.

“…trademarks could allow her brand to market a lifetime’s worth of products in China, from baby blankets to coffins…”

Ivanka Trump Coffins?

Does that family have no shame?
