Discussion: China Suspected In Massive Data Breach That Could Affect Every Gov't Agency

Discussion for article #237163

What was the value of putting detailed personal information on an internet-connected computer? The risk to the entire federal workforce would seem far more important than the convenience to a few employees in HR who want to work from home.

Cybersecurity expert Morgan Wright of the Center for Digital Government, an advisory institute, said EINSTEIN “certainly appears to be a failure at this point. The government would be better off outsourcing their security to the private sector where’s there at least some accountability.”

Somebody’s publicist is doing an excellent job to get such a false and self-serving statement into a news article. I wonder if money changed hands to get the placement.

I’m a fed. Right now, I’m actually praying the data compromised was limited to name, address, DoB, and SSN.

The first place I heard about this topic was, of course, right wing relatives (and probably via fox or hate radio).
