Doug Jones campaigned on CHIP and got votes from a lot of folks and acquiescence from GOP voters. This is a winning issue for Dems. They need to take a stand on the budget here and shut the place down if CHIP and DACA are not addressed.
Agree. Shut it down over CHIP and DACA. They should have shut it down earlier, when they could have derailed the tax bill.
Tell Paul Ryan he’s already taken enough people’s healthcare away with his tax bill, and now it’s a clean reauthorization of CHIP or the party that controls three branches of government is responsible for shutting that government down.

I work in a clinic where the vast majority of my patients are on government-funded health care and have never worked a day in their lives.

It still amazes me how most people forget it is most of these same Republicans in the Senate that helped W. create the housing bubble that crashed the economy. Why anyone takes their word for anything is still a mystery to me. It took me 8-10 years to get my retirement account back to where it was before the crash. I can already see its about to take another dive with implementation of this new Tax Cut for the Filthy Entitled Rich Bill about to be voted on to enrich these same Senators and their donors.
While we’re talking about our taxpayer money:
$90 fucking million dollars !! How much CHIP does that buy I wonder. Republicans in Congress are complicit in allowing this happen because they’ve always wanted to get their piece of our money in their own pockets as well. Pigs. Real public service means nothing to them.
