Discussion: Chicago Alderman Who Was Trump's Tax Lawyer Faces Up To 20 Years In Prison

Good. Few things more satisfying than seeing these corrupt hacks finally face the music.

I was hoping this guy was being squeezed to flip on President Baby-Hands, but I’ll take it.

Alderman Burke is 75 years old. If he were convicted, and if he were sentenced to 20 years, it might as well be called a life sentence.

It always hurts when it’s a democrat…but I am GLAD he is getting what he deserves!!!

It hurts, but we should figure that if we’re going to be the party of clean government, then we have to assure that our people are honest, and be proud of that.

No it doesn’t. Not in this case. He’s the last holdout of the Council Wars under mayor Washington. Whose fault was that he was black. They all were corrupt and all went to prison eventually. Except for him. Finally.

ABSOLUTELY! I don’t mean to imply that I am not for a deep pore cleanse!

It is nice to see some of the last vestiges of Chicago machine political corruption getting rolled.

I live in a ward where the Alderman was convicted of ghost payrolling family members via the water department and Burke’s Finance Committee. He died before he could be sent to prison but gave his City Council seat to his daughter who held it for 24 years. Corrupt bastards all.

We don’t actually know that’s not the case, do we?

Lock him up…

I despise crooked Dems even more so than crooked GOP’ers. After all, you expect the GOP’er to be a feckless grifter so there should be no surprise…

I recall all the ghost payroll stories where Burke put people on the city payroll who rarely showed up for work. I think his law firm’s secretary was paid by the city for a while as well.

Trump: “Ed Burke? I think he was a doorman at my Trump Tower Chicago, right?”
