Discussion: Chelsea Manning Jailed For Refusing To Testify To Grand Jury Probing Wikileaks

What an idiot. Delusions of grandeur. The Left’s version of Snowden, except she was even MORE careless and random with her document theft and disclosures. Snowden was a criminal with a specific purpose – Manning was just an imbecile.

Also, perhaps more importantly, her refusal to testify in the Wikileaks case strongly suggests that Wikileaks – and therefore, by extension, Putin’s intelligence services – were behind both Manning AND Snowden.

How anyone can support this self-aggrandizing, self-martyring fool is a mystery.

Maybe she was a little homesick for jail? That’s right I got nuthin’

I wonder if Jared Kushner or Ivanka Trump refused to testify would they be whisked off to prison so effortlessly?

Maybe she wants a little extra surgery or medical care at taxpayer expense.
I believe taxpayers have paid for her transitional surgery so far.

I mean, she did already have her sentence commuted.

That video.

I can’t toss the diplomatic cables incident to the side, but that video is one of the the few good things (possibly the only thing) that Wikileaks revealed.

The issue is that she told them she had no intention of complying at any point. If she’d refused to testify and then entered into negotiations, she likely would be free right now.

It takes a nerve for an opponent of government secrecy not to come clean before a court of law.

I’m okay with her spending some time in jail.

She must have some core group of followers who encourage all the nonsense she does. Personally, I think she’s a genuinely messed-up person.

Off topic: Trump’s Fordham grades leaked and they are awesome:

Damn, that’s some powerful conclusion-jumping.

Rot.

Yes, anybody who reveals American war crimes should be jailed. The killers and torturers go free, but whistleblowers are prosecuted and jailed.

American Exceptionalism at its finest.

No democracy, no justice.

Hence, the commutation of her sentence – which is she is now thumbing her nose at by protecting Putin’s pals/dupes at Wikileaks. Good will and sympathy . . . gone.

She should have used Manafort’s trick: promise cooperation and just lie.

Really? You don’t think Wikileaks was supported by and given docs by the Russians? Really? Wikileaks was either intentionally complicit with Russia or at a minimum, were willfully ignorant dupes. But given Wikileaks’ direct role in getting Snowden to Russia, and given Assange’s close ties with Israel Shamir, I’d put my money on the former, wouldn’t you?

At the end of the day, though, whether Wikileaks is doing the crimes itself, or working with and/or soliciting others to do the crimes for it, does it matter?

Given the way he talks, I’m impressed that he managed a D+ in English. Also, the idiot who posted the photo really should have cropped his shoes and chair out of that. He’s going to get identified.

Well, after being soundly defeated during the Maryland Democratic Primary for the US Senate seat held by Ben Cardin, she probably hasn’t been receiving as much attention as she thinks she deserves.

P.S. She’s an example of what could happen if trump starts handing out pardons. Because her sentence was commuted by Obama, Manning was not able to plead the fifth.
