Here is inequality in the US writ large. I’m sure she’s a nice girl, and I’m sure she’s smart. But does anybody really believe she earned her way into a $600,000 sinecure? What did NBC really expect to get for their money?
Meritocracy is dying in this country and we’re on our way to having a hereditary aristocracy.
Chelsea’s storytelling inspired people across the country and showcased the real power we have as individuals to make a difference in [Comcast mergers and acquisitions].
CHELSEA / SASHA OBAMA 2032
(I love the sound of exploding teabags!)
If Chelsea made that kind of money, just imagine what the regular on-air folks make. How can they identify with those who work at minimum wage jobs?
Just oozing with privilege.
This was not even a full time job for her - she seemed to be out doing Clinton Foundation stuff for a lot of her time. How many segments did she do? What is the cost per segment? I like and respect her, but there is no way that she (or anyone with comparable skills/experience) is worth this amount of money. All about celebrity by association.
What a staggering loss for the country to lose such a unique and prolific voice, even if only for a short while. Public intellectuals like Chelsea Clinton come along once in a generation, if that. Her contributions to the public discourse are legendary and I cannot even begin to describe how she influenced my own thinking. She’s an inspiration, a cognitive supernova, and a national treasure. I’d take out a second mortgage on my home for the chance to hear her speak. A salary of $600,000 is insulting for such a towering figure.
How will anyone be able to tell the difference?
Sarah that’s your cue…
Actually , they didn’t pay her enough .
