If he told his sex partners (plural) in advance, and is willing to say this in a national TV interview, why pay anybody, ever, to keep silent? I think heās covering up gambling debts.

Sorry to hear he has HIV and hope he can stay healthy. Not exactly a great spokesmen for fighting the disease and helping to stop the spread of it, but glad he has decided to go public with it and stop the blackmailing.
He was/is a talented actor. Too bad his personal life has been such a train-wreck. Hopefully this public disclosure can bring about some stability and healing for him as he moves forward in fighting his disease.

Iām not sure his announcement will reduce the stigma and shame for those who have HIV/AIDS. In fact, it will probably make it worse by reinforcing current stereotypes about those who lead a promiscuous lifestyle. Even though it only takes once.
