Discussion: 'Charlatans': Grassley Refers Swetnick, Avenatti To DOJ Over Kavanaugh Claims

“When charlatans make false claims to the Committee – claims that may earn them short-term media exposure and financial gain, but which hinder the Committee’s ability to do its job – there should be consequences.”

Are you really, really sure you want to open this particular can of worms, Grasshole?

“When charlatans make false claims…there should be consequences,” Grassley asserted.

Good gawd. This from an obsequious POS who walks in lock step with Trump.

This seems like it could backfire on Grassley. What if, in the DOJ’s investigation of this claim, it turns out that Swetnick was telling the truth and Kavanaugh lying. Will Grassely hold new hearings on Kavanaugh? Seems like a dangerous ploy by Grassely. Not a lot of up side for him and huge downside risk. I don’t see why he is making this play.

Pro tip: When you go to intimidate people, don’t start with a nervy showboat whose usual attitude is “Bring it” and knows a thing or two about avoiding legal jeopardy. And don’t believe your own propaganda. That’s enough homework for this week, you old fool.

I predict that this will be quietly withdrawn soon after the midterms.

Kasewitz - Torres? Hmm, let me think. Do you have someone in minde?

God, why can’t some of these 80-somethings just keel over? I mean, what happened to stroking out?

I’m fine with this either way. Either Avenatti gets shown up if he and his client are lying, and we can dispense with this Avenatti 2020 nonsense, or she is proven credible and Dems have more basis to investigate Kavanaugh.

They’re not allowed to bang their interns anymore, that’s what happened to it.

“Ha! Just Kidding!” he continued. “We confirmed him anyhow!”

By all means, keep Kavanaugh’s suitability for office in the headlines. When he refuses to recluse himself from such cases in the future, it will just give more reasons for a Democartic Congress to bring charges against him to remove him from an office to which he should never have been confirmed.

He may be doing it for short-term political effect.

He may be doing it after having set up an “investigation” that will give him the result he wants.

Or he may just be doing it because he’s a doddering old fool.

My thoughts exactly. First Kavanaugh was compared to MBS by the moron, and now this gets resurrected. Poor Brett. SAD.

All of the above…

Perfect!

Careful what you wish for Grassley, your boy got confirmed with a sham investigation where the FBI was forbidden to interview certain (female) witnesses. Do you really want to re-open that can of worms, this time under justice rules instead of calvinball confirmation rules?

Also, does anyone know the specific contradictions grasseye is claiming? I’m not going to wade through that 29 page wall of text referral (I doubt he has either).
