Oh I don’t think so.
The FBI that seemed to have all the time in the world to investigate Hillary’s emails even when there was no "there " there and according to umpteen investigations costing millions of dollars no crime was committed.
Now we have a government official caught red handed lying to the FBI and it’s all move along nothing to see here.
Comey has to go

Having watched yesterdays unhinged Trump presser, I’m really left wondering about Trump’s defenders/apologists and how many more of such displays they - not the mention the American public - can endure. I wouldn’t be surprised here if we do start to see a little shifting from the likes of Chaffetz, Ryan, etc. Not holding my breath, and I’d still expect them to drag their heels, but little shifts like this wouldn’t surprise me at this point. They’ll read the poilitical winds and do whatever minimum they need to to protect themselves. At least until the dam breaks (if it does)…

Funny, but I initially misread that.

But Trumps obvious violations of the emoluments clause is ok? And his violatoon of his government contract on the hotel in DC is ok?

he’s probably just jumping on the bandwagon in order to sabotage any serious inquiry…

Drip, drip, drip…I do believe this is a major scandal, and we’re just waiting for the last straw. Where is Alexander Butterfield when you need him? (For you kids, he was the man who revealed the existence of Nixon’s tapes during the Watergate hearings.) History repeats itself? One can only hope…as much as I despise him, at this point I think I would prefer that Pence be President. At least he’s not demonstrably unhinged. One impeachment at a time, please…

rain on my parade why don’t ya? My wife teases me that when it comes to optimism, my glass is full of sand with jagged edges, but I’m still holding out hope.

Turn on Faux news for 10 minutes
That will kill any hope and squash the last vestiges of optimism

The most insightful comment. That’s exactly what he’s doing, he is there to sabotage it.

Anyone who thinks that this Chaffetz person joined the democrats because of good intentions, they are as delusional as Trump supporters.

Yes, because he’s still in office. Flynn is out, so now’s the time to start investigating him so it won’t affect the “well oiled machine” that is the Trump administration.

I believe it’s to protect his own butt. Which is all that I believe he and any republican (and most politicians in general) really think about. Eventually even the dumbest (Chaffetz I’m looking at you), will jump overboard like rats.

I’m not sure about this development. By all means look into Flynn’s speeches–but do it in the context of an investigation into the connections between the GOP and Russia in 2016 and thereafter. Chaffetz is probably quite happy to make Flynn the fall guy. It also gives him cover against accusations that he’s not doing his job.

Wow, the real life Chief Wiggum look-a-like decided to do 1/100 of his job? Interesting times…interesting indeed.

If Caffetz did investigate with gusto, it would be to find Hillary was at fault somehow:

Complete smoke screen, he’s joining the discussion to change the subject to the real culprits, the leakers.

And can we all take a second to remember that Jill Stein is also at that very same party.

I do not understand why Jill Stein’s possible collusion with Putin isn’t getting more scrutiny. She is even more of a fruitcake and idiot than Flynn. This means that it’s quite likely that it would be easy to find out how she was aided by Putin, if indeed she was.

Agreed. Also, I think the high regard Vice Admiral Harward is held in, and his outright dismissal of the Rapist administration, really resonated, as well. It’s a kin to an adult showing up, taking one look around at the frat house that is this presidency, and deciding “ya know, I think my days of kicking away empty beer cans on my way to the bathroom are over…I’m good.”

One point on the good Vice Admiral. Sadly, I’ll admit, I never heard of the man until this fiasco. I have no idea what his politics are, or what the man believes. That’s on me. However, it’s good to see, in this shit-filled, backwards-ass world we’re currently living in, a man, a hero, with honor and integrity, not compromising them for anyone. Gave me a brief sense of direction in a currently direction-less world.
